pretty clearly the coaches on the defensive side of the ball have good X's & O's and player-development resumes, including Lanning. The Offensive side has many more questions and uncertainty
Somehow I missed this game; I guess the covid thing has really screwed things around. Looks as if I missed a real thriller as the Ducks barely beat the Beavers 78-76 on a late Eric Williams three. Beavers shot much better overall, but Ducks much better from three (Beavs only 12%) and had 10 more rebounds. Jacob Young continued to justify his placement into the starting lineup, leading the team with 16 points on 7 for 14 shooting. Williams had 14 off the bench with 11 rebounds and three assists. Big man Dante had a solid game in 26 minutes, shooting 5 for 6 and 11 rebounds plus one block.
On Sunday night, Justin Herbert once again found himself dabbling in the record books, putting the stamp on what was another historic season that unfortunately ended in an overtime loss that left his team short of reaching the postseason. The Los Angeles Chargers lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in overtime, 35-32, in a game that would have sent both teams to the playoffs had it ended in a tie. The loss was unfortunate, but Herbert was spectacular in the performance, throwing for 383 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. One of the most impressive stats of the night for Herbert came in the clutch, where on 4th down, he went 6-for-6 for 106 yards and a TD on the night. He also happened to tie Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino for the most passing touchdowns of any player through his first two seasons in the NFL. https://sports.yahoo.com/justin-herbert-shatters-nfl-history-161313362.html
Sean Dollars and now Trey Benson are entering the transfer portal. Makes me wonder if Dye and Verdejo have indicated to them that they’re staying for senior season so they decided to move on.
The Portal offers no guarantee's that a player will be picked up. They will lose their scholarship and potentially ned their football careers. Id like to see a listing of players that were not picked up off the portal.
ducks are playing down at UCLA tonight. UCLA shoots so well and they play really tough defense. I gave up on the Ducks in the first few minutes but they actually led 24-23 at one point. Down 35-30 at half, shooting 10 for 33 overall and 1 for 9 from 3.
Oregon up by four under a minute left but turns the ball over twice, including right under their own basket, going to overtime.
Ducks win in overtime! Altman's 700th victory, Great defense all game long. Young scores I think 17 in the second half.
Nice win. Got lucky after that bad mistake with the pass under the basket in Regulation. Glad to see the ducks pull it out.
Great recruiting was what Cristobal had going and look where that got them. I'd say you could pin almost every loss the past couple years on being straight up outcoached. I have a feeling Lanning will have the defense ready but I worry how good the young OC Dillingham will be with in-game adjustments. We'll see.
