Miller is from Georgia, and even though the visit reportedly went very well, I think it's still a long shot that Oregon gets him

all the speculation about Sir Mells seems based upon one cryptic tweet. I have no idea what's going on with him

My bad about saying Arizona. Lanning was his primary recruiter for Georgia who were said to be his leader. CM didn't include Oregon in his final 5, then Lanning was hired as Oregon's coach and he schedules an Official Visit. Now post visit, there are lots of smoke signals that he may have just given his verbal. None of that is what I think, it's whats happened/happening. What I think about him is that I was underwhelmed by his hudl tape, but I've been wrong before.

Mells was an active promoter of all things UO but today took all the Duck stuff off his twitter account and posted a mean face. Not much of a stretch to conclude that something has drastically changed and he gone!

Well thats a great 180 development... hope they ironed everything out.

I really like Mells. He's a big dude in general, but his massive lower body is why there is hope for him anchoring the middle of the line.

Why? He got married and he/his wife want to return home to start their life together. I don't see anything too bad.

Not to mentioned 247 sports predicting we'll get the 2020 P12 POY the year to replace him...

Yep, if coaches can get up and leave players should be allowed too. How many offensive coordinators / coaches did he play for while at Oregon. With the portal and NIL its that that big a deal, just something to get used too.
    Just watch, Phil will...

Agreed and I wish him the best. This move does not look to be for the betterment of his college career as USC's OLine has sucked and they've nothing of note incoming. They've also got Stanford's stud RB Austin Davis transferring in plus 5* Raleek Brown. Dye is going from bellcow to possibly 3rd string.

I'm not sure I'd agree the Ducks are likely to get Broussard. On one hand, the guy who made the prediction is the head of 247 'scouting' so there's some credibility. On the other hand, he has a history of early predictions and later revisions of predictions (I subscribe to 247)

Reportedly, Broussard is visiting TCU this weekend and will visit Michigan State next weekend or later in the week. And the MSU coach is the one that recruited Broussard to Colorado

in Oregon's favor, their new DB coach came from Colorado; and transfer safety Christian Gonzalez came from Colorado as well. But I don't know how close Broussard was to either

a 4-star class-of-2022 RB recruit, verbally committed to Georgia, Jordan James, is visiting Oregon this weekend. The Ducks are also trying to convince a 3-star RB from Texas, Andrew Paul, to visit. His recruiting has blown up after his senior season and playoffs. He's a 220 lb RB in the SEC mold, and he's recently received offers from some SEC teams as well as Clemson, Michigan, and Michigan State. But I don't know if the Ducks can get him to visit. They probably have a better shot with James, and may even have a better shot with James than they do Broussard. But the Ducks have to do something; they can't go into next season with only 3 RB's in the RB room (I'm assuming Verdell is gone too)

    ********************************************************************

as for Dye, if it wasn't for the one-time Covid rule, Dye would have exhausted his eligibility this season. As it is, he gave 4 years to the Ducks. He was a warrior for them. I've been told Dye was really close to Jim Mastro and when Mastro was not retained, that became one deciding factor. Another, or at least a rumor, is that Dye is interested in a master's degree that USC offers and Oregon doesn't. And of course, he very likely may have received a better NIL offer at USC than Oregon. Welcome to the new landscape of college football

in that regard, I'm in favor of NIL. I'm also in favor of the transfer portal and immediate eligibility upon transfer. Athletes should have the same opportunities and freedom of movement as everybody else. If college football can only survive while players are indentured, it deserves to fail

EDIT: rumor is that Broussard may be visiting Oregon this weekend

Wow, June Jones offered to come back to Hawaii and they tried to fuck him. 2 year contract and he doesn't get to pick his staff?

    Dumb.

Utah's running back coach the last 5 years McDonald is form CA and new at USC. Utah has had a number of good running backs under McDonald.

Why? This argument is often made but no reasoning is given. Should bus drivers be allowed to fly planes? They are all people, right? As well, players could always leave and transfer out, only they had to sit out a year. They could also transfer out and not have the PRIVILEDGE of scholarship for playing a fucking sport just like everyone else.

Div 1 College Sports, especially football, is all about generating revenue. With NIL and the portal it has changed things big time. Consider the money coaches are paid and the retirements they end up with, a coach can make more money in one year then most players will ever make in a life time. The way I understand it a player can only use the portal to change teams once and he loses his initial scholarship and receives one from the new team. Hell, a coach can pay his way out usually and leave whenever if the new school makes it enticing enough. Im not opposed to young people looking for opportunities to better their situations, and again they are the product produced that allow the big machine to generate big revenue to multitudes.
If that bus driver has a pilots license and is good at flying sure why stop him from flying planes if thats what he wants to do.
