Im not saying whats worst or better, I said Dame & Chauncey wont go a long with a plan to tank let alone players that are trying to prove themselves that they are NBA worthy. Do you really think they care what you or I think about what the team shopld or shouldn't do. If Joe can pull the trigger and get us a difference great.

They wouldn't be where they are without giving it their all. That's why we need trades to help the tank. Otherwise just blow the shit up unless Cronin pulls something out of his ass to make the team better.

Looks like he’s forgiven Jason Quick. Back to being Mr. Loquacious…

Trades to help the tank? Trades to to improve next year rather and no tank.

You can do both bro. Trade for injured players that will be out for a bit.

So you think tanking will help Dame get a championship?

It gives you a better pick to trade for an impact player OR a player that can help right away. The top 3-4 guys might be immediate impact guys. I'd look to trade the pick if we have a high pick along with players etc. to get another star next to Dame.

Getting a lotto pick to either use on a player or in a trade to acquire more talent certainly helps Dame get closer than sneaking in and getting bounced in the first round again. Then having no lotto pick to use.

I get what your saying I just dont buy that Chauncey and the players that are playing to help their cause will tank. Nurk, & Ant are playing for contracts, the other players are wanting to justify their existence in the league.
    We’ll se.

No one thinks any player would ever tank on purpose. That's silly.

    Management on the other hand...

The players can play their hearts out. But if we make trades for injured players, and we are at a disadvantage talent wise while players are out, then it all works out.

Because of the recent uptick in the level of play Joe Cronin is in a good place...it's a perfect scenario with high value for pieces at the deadline...we won't be selling cheap like we would have been when we couldn't win a road game.

Doesn’t it kind of depend on whether Cronin is able to pull off a big deal like CJ and pieces for Simmons and change? If he balances out this roster and it looks like Dame can be healthy for the playoffs, why waste a season of Dame’s career? OTOH, if there aren’t any deals like that to be had, if it’s just Nurk and RoCo for Turner or Sabonis or someone like that who can’t play this year, then maybe the lottery is the best option.

LeBron basically tanked the Cavs by going to Miami. Then after they got Kyrie and Wiggins, he came back and won a title. It was the most effective tank job ever.

Not really. Simmons alone with Dame isn't gonna be a contender either. Simmons with Dame, Simons and a lotto pick to use on a player or trade for another impact player, then we might be in business.

IMO, you’re counting too heavily on a lotto pick that could easily turn out to be a bust or at least a guy who’s going to take years to develop like, say, Wiggins has. You’re also undervaluing players like Norm, Ant, Little and, if we keep him, Nurk. A balanced team with those guys, a healthy Dame, and Simmons could do some major damage next season.

He literally said "and a lotto pick to use on a player or trade". He was not exclusive lol.

Maybe they win a series. But I don't view them as contenders. Enter a lotto pick to use or trade to get another big time player next to Dame, Simmons and Simons and i'm excited.
