You know this crazy sucka$$ season could all come together and we could do some damage in the PO.

It is easy for people to say you can just watch it on the interwebs that were alive. It isn't close to the same.

The fact that people think this team actually has a chance is mind boggling to me. We need changes in the worst way.

I never said we don't need changes.....probably every team in the league needs changes....I said enjoy the ride...cheer for wins and improvement and it's just purely more fun ..we have lots of talent on this team and assets we can move.....we need some length in the backcourt.....that's all great for talking points but please....the doom and gloom about it are just not adding to anyone's experience in my view. It's not as polarizing as msg boards tend to make it out to be.

And thinking we have a chance to win when we are severely outmatched fit and talent wise makes many of us annoyed too. I can freely post all day that I think we are a treadmill team with no chance in hopes that we do make changes. Getting bounced in the first round is not fun to me.

optimism should never annoy anyone.....but hey.....I'm not requiring anyone to cheer or think we'll win the game today....I HOPE we win the game today even though we are playing bench players...like last game. Anything else is wasted use of my entertainment time. The playoffs are months away so worrying about the first round now is pretty useless too..we more than likely don't have the same roster by then and could have Dame back so....bring it on...win or lose...I love playoff basketball and can handle losing as well as enjoy winning...choices

    I know, i get it.
big picture is being missed here.
You are calling someone sad for not getting all excited for a momentary and short term peak, amongst a season of much larger cellar dwelling runs.
Reality is we have sucked for a large part of the season and this is yet another year where we are not clear contenders for either a title or high lotto pick.

That is the sad thing. Zero direction either way. Year after year.. after year… after year…….. after …… year….
    Kinda droning, huh?

I was referencing this road trip....not this season but yeah....every season is a blank slate for me....I don't have that mindset and I do think it's sad if a fan doesn't enjoy success when it comes...nothing to do with titles and contenders...just enjoying Blazer ball for a stretch...if you read my other posts about this I've said I've turned around 180 degrees since we couldn't win a road game...and we are sharing the ball...over this road trip we've been the number one defense in the league.(small sample size but first time we've done that for a week this season) ...enjoy the victories and take it a game at a time....Dame needed to shut it down and this is the result...fun stuff....going on 45 years as a follower of the team and zero regrets so far...my favorite sports franchise ever....any sport. I'll die on that hill. Some of my least favorite franchises have won many titles.....doesn't change my dislike for any of them...Cowboys, Lakers, etc.....

    LOL!

I'm not okay with mediocrity, that's hilarious.

Many times in sports, when a team's star gets injured the rest of the players on the team actually get better.

Look at this Portland team, learning to win games without relying on Lillard to save them.

Nas, Nurk, Ant, all are improving as players and in their roles on the team.

If this team can drug its butt into playoff contention this team could be very dangerous with a healthy and rested Lillard.

During our long-suffering mediocrity, Lillard has made the game easier for the players around him because he's who defenses scheme against.

With the way the team is playing none of the players are hurting their trade value if we wait to trade them during the offseason.

Who is the best in the WC right now? The Suns? Given his history does CP3 really have 2 long playoff runs in a row in him? VS a healthy and pissed-off Lillard?

That would be fun to see!

    And lastly....

I have seen this said wrong so many times here and on other sites.

    PLAYERS... DON'T... TANK!

    again...

    PLAYERS... DON'T... TANK!

    and...

    COACHES... DON'T... TANK!

    again...

    COACHES... DON'T... TANK!

Any player or coach who would intentionally lose a game you don't want anything to do with.

    GMs build teams to tank.

You don't tank by wanting players to intentionally throw games.

But he wasnt. The post you responded to…

one can enjoy the growth of the youth and still understand the purgatory state it puts us in and not like it for the season.

This sounds like it was directed at someone, so ill bite.
What is your idea of dangerous? Do you think this roster with Dame can win a seven game series against a healthy denver, phoenix, utah?
Meaning you think it is a legit contender?

or is dangerous meaning we might make some steam but likely fizzle out in the conference finals like we did two years ago?

    Sure.

We did pretty good against Denver with a banged up Lillard.

And that's not counting a trade or two.

And we can still trade everyone away for draft picks in the off-season.

i dont see it personally but we all see things a little different.
Id prefer me wrong snd you right but i don't think that will end up being the case at seasons end.

We can trade people for draft picks at end of year. But, that isn't going to help us at much as having a decent lotto pick this year to use on a player or in a trade.

Either way we should move Covington to get our protected pick back since he is a free agent at year end and we have Little/Nance at the 3/4.

Trade CJ and 2023/2025 1sts for Simmons.

Trade Covington for our 2022 1st back.

    Dame
    Powell
    Little
    Simmons
    Nurk

    Nance, Ant on bench

    Lotto pick

Insert trades for better fits in the offseason. That makes me feel better about the team.

read above, river. In one moment you tell someone they are sad while putting words in their mouth. He said purgatory sucks. Didn't mention anything either way about the recent stretch but you assume he is sad

but yet right after that you are correcting someone on”that isn't what i said..”

    So whoosh…

At this point I'm having a hard time imagining a 100% healthy Lillard this season. What I can imagine is Dame insisting on coming back too soon.
