    Scotto says Blazers are one of the teams interested in Finney Smith.

    Also said Cleveland and Minnesota are among the teams interested in Roco

    Chicago was on a roll, but injuries have slowed them down. They are very thin at PF. Would they be willing to part with Williams (who has also been hurt) to bolster their front court? Who knows when they will have this good of a chance again for a title. They don't need a star at PF, just solid options to go with Vuc/DRoz/Ball/Levine. Of course I'd like to get our Draft pick back as well, but if we are getting Williams (long shot), it wouldn't matter as much.

    Btw with Hardaway probably out for the season, Dallas could get more aggressive in going after someone like Powell. That was a fit even before the injury and I believe they’ve been connected to him in the past. If Portland really is interested in DFS, there could be a deal to be made. A trade of DFS/Bullock for Powell and one of our minimums would get us under the tax. DFS is a FA after the season, but he should cost less than Powell. Could also free up a trade involving Roco.

    That seems like a bit of a stretch. I can't imagine anyone giving up on a top 5 pick (even an injured one) that quickly for RoCo and Nance

    So when can we see CJ and Covington for Prozingis and Finny Smith?

    It is a stretch, but the Bulls were the #1 seed in the East before injuries. Strike while the iron is hot. DRoz isn't getting any younger and you never know when the opportunity comes again. @KeithSmithNBA from the NBAFrontOffice pod is big on them going all. Doubt they do it, but if you get a title out of it, totally worth it.

    Send Porzingis and change to Toronto so we can get Siakam. He can be the center they've been looking for.

    We definitely approached the game as if he is soft, but I'm not sure if that worked. Nurk was not able to knock him back on postups. Our strategy of guarding him with smaller guys seemed to work generally though it seemed we often brought too much help and were thus vulnerable to him passing to open guys.

    DFS doesn't make much sense to me. He's a FA this summer and due for an extension and is already 28. He's a low level starter. Unless we get him for our minimum guys, I have little interest.

    Agreed, he's a decent player, but I want guys we have control over going forward if we're making moves.

    I suppose it's similar to what we did with Hood and Powell where we got their Bird rights, but I don't find it of much value for a guy who's not that good.

    Low level starter? His VORP would lead our team. His DBPM would be second. Win shares/48 third. His 3PT % is better than anyone outside of our four guards.

    I like this idea. It seems Porzingis would be a better fit for Toronto than for us. Not sure if Toronto would need anything added to make that trade. Porzingis is having a strong year, has best PER of these three, not really close and his advanced stats are also better than Siakam, even though his three point shooting is substantially below his norm. So, is CJ enough for Dallas?

    They can have one of CJ or Norm plus Roco and they can give Porzingis and change and we can take Siakam. Seems pretty reasonable. Maybe Dallas can throw in a pick or a young piece to Toronto?

    CJ/Roco->Porz->Siakam
    Norm/Nance->Collins

    That's a contender.

    This IMO is the focus any of us have talked about for a Chauncy coached team - good sized wings that can DEFEND, we can see what a disruptive force Nas has been, Roco's likely gone, we need a replacement wing, I like the Finney-smith idea

    unless Portland overpays, does anybody think that RoCo would re-sign with Portland? I'd think he'll walk if he's UFA this summer

    Portland needs to get something for him prior to the deadline

    i think i might do this, provided we have inroads into a reasonable extension for DFS moving forward.
