    (Sub) tweets the guy online.

Like I get it, but this doesn’t make embiid look much better either.

Imagine if that's what you'd been dealing with since Embiid was drafted, then imagine that you think you're just as good as him but the team has been very in your face about Embiid being the number one guy and then imagine that they say that this douche bag is the team leader. Fuck, imagine the shit Embiid probably pitches everyone in the locker room and during practice. It's pretty obvious that Doc decided the best way to motivate Ben was to ride him all season, which was a mistake. That is the set up and the punch line is the stuff both guys said in public about Simmons when I'm sure he was already down on himself for his performance in the series against the Hawks, followed by Morey publicly shopping him for the second straight early off season.

Everyone in here that thinks Ben is the bad guy for sitting out when he's paying the price by not getting his checks is way off in my opinion. Between Embiid, Doc and Morey followed by the way Philly fans flip on players, that has become an untenable work situation, so much so that Simmons is giving up millions to stay away from that toxicity. If Ben was getting paid that would be one thing but he's put his money where his mouth is.

What, nobody in this thread wants to retract their negative comments about Embiid based on SwissBlazer's clarification?

Oh if he wasn't talking about Simmons this time it doesn't cancel out all of the shit he's said and posted about Simmons. Embiid is a dick, he would be a terrible teammate to have.

am I the only one who thinks that at this point, Morey's priority isn't getting a great package for Simmons, but instead is to 'break' Simmons and make him cry uncle. Win the stupid showdown. Last I saw, Philly is essentially fining Simmons almost all of his salary for 'missing' games. Morey seems to be betting that eventually Simmons will cave

but to what end? Philly fans will be unmerciful on Simmons. Doc Rivers will treat him poorly. So will Embiid. Simmons would be more of a distraction in uniform and on the bench than he ever has been sitting out.

What we aren't aware of is that Morey has been secretly filming a reality TV show behind the scenes and this will make him millions when it goes public.

Yeah I sort of agree with you, but the odd thing is how does this improve Simmons trade value? Seems he will perform worse than the last few years and it could screw with his confidence permanently. I don't see why a team is going to then give up more assets in the summer.

I wonder if Simmons is actually using this time off in some productive form. Like, how crazy would it be if he got traded in the offseason and showed up next season with a competent jump shot because he spent a year doing nothing but working on one?

Ehh, what am I saying? We all know that's not happening.

speaking as someone with 2 ex-wives, I'd say that's debatable.

hey devin booker's entire outlook changed the moment he started seeing kendall. and Simmons' stock went completely the opposite way after she left Ben.

(has nothing to do with Chris Paul obviously)
