By the end of the season they'll be able to fill an entire Ridiculousness marathon on MTV with Blazers' "highlights."

I love that we have hope and at least it's interesting again. We took risks.

I got tired of seeing the same movie over and over.

If Blazers aiming lottery, this is very well constructed team. It could be best team in years, so far from worst.

I'll raise you a Blevins, Watford and an Elleby with a sulking Nurk

There is absolutely no doubt that you are right.
To lose to the worst team in the NBA on our home court by an 18 point margin. Well, there's just no excuse. Which means Orlando is no longer the worst team in the NBA nor is Detroit. Guess who now holds that honor? I say it all started with firing our coach, Stotts who was holding us together with bailing wire and duct tape.

How did all of you like listening ALL SUMMER to Lillard trade scenarios? Hanging on every word the man said and hoping at all costs that the rumors were not true. Story after story came out that he was disgruntled and was considering leaving the Blazers for greener pastures?

Again i'll ask how long do you all think it's going to take for Nurk to start sulking his way through games (obviously last night). What do you really think he will draw on the market? This has to happen today right?

Right now the Blazers sit in the 8th spot in the draft. In 1994 the Kings drafted Brian Grant in the 8th spot. Jack Sikma in 1977. Tom Chambers in 1981. Andre Miller in 1999. Jamal Crawford in 2000. Rudy Gay in 2006.
Here's one that might rock ya. Jeff Petrie in 1970. Over the years there have been some good players. Like 5 in the last 60 years.
Last year is was Franz Wagner. He's actually not bad.
Who they going to get? Ty Ty Washington? Ben Mathurin? Patric Baldwin jr.? Maybe they can get another guard in Johnny Davis?
Be sure it's not going to be a game changer.

Never thought I'd see a Smith/Blevins/Elleby/Brown/Watford lineup outside of garbage time, but last night...

Eh, let's face it--last nights entire game was garbage time.

@Natebishop3 trying to pull up his “Wrong” thread from last year.
Don’t be confused. This is the worst team he has seen in his lifetime.

sorry but you're exercising fallacy by just locking onto the 8th pick

Dame was drafted 6th in 2012. In that draft & later drafts, these players were taken at 8 or later:

    Draymond Green
    Khris Middleton
    Giannis Antetokounmpo
    Rudy Gobert
    Zach LaVine
    Jusuf Nurkić
    Jerami Grant
    Nikola Jokić
    Myles Turner
    Devin Booker
    Kelly Oubre Jr.
    Bobby Portis
    Norman Powell
    Domantas Sabonis
    Caris LeVert
    Pascal Siakam
    Dejounte Murray
    Malcolm Brogdon
    Donovan Mitchell
    Bam Adebayo
    John Collins
    Jarrett Allen
    OG Anunoby
    Dillon Brooks
    Collin Sexton
    Mikal Bridges
    Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
    Miles Bridges
    Michael Porter Jr.
    Jalen Brunson
    Devonte' Graham
    Gary Trent Jr.
    Jaxson Hayes
    Cameron Johnson
    Tyler Herro
    Jordan Poole
    Keldon Johnson
    Kevin Porter Jr.

sure, the odds are against you, but there's still a chance of landing an elite player, and if not of a higher level starter. Can't just gauge by the 8th pick; need to gauge by who was available at the 8th pick

Talent assessment of drafts picks now days with players coming so young and undeveloped (Simons) is a crap shoot except for maybe the first 5-8 and even at that no guarantees. Thats cool, just the way it is today.
I think GM's spend a good amount of time assessing those picks taken that didnt pop right away after a year or two, panning for an older more mature, and developed player that can be acquired via trade or FA's.
Chauncey seems to think that Winslow could be one of these dudes. And teams probably look at guys like Naz & Simons same way. Older and more developed/productive.
The down side is a franchise can become a junior training ground for players and lose them after investing a lot of time. It something all teams deal with though.

But you just made the odds even worse by saying 8 or later. The numbers become astronomically bad when you add all the players that didn’t pan out.
But sure. Do your nerd thing.
