Plays great defense, passes, and they cover his shooting. How is it not a perfect fit?

Spurs extracted two first rounders for Derrick White and Thad Young.

White and Powell is about equivalent. Contracts included.

Young and Roco is about equivalent. Both upcoming FAs.

Fuck you, Cronin. Dumbass decided to go all in on mythical capspace instead of patiently waiting for the right offer.

Those guys need the ball in their hands. You're not getting much out of Ben if he doesn't have the ball in his hands. I think Grant can get you a lot of what Ben would do for cheaper with additional assets.

It's shorter and less than Powell's.

But yeah, giving up the first seems silly.

Yup. Still baffles my mind that another team wasn’t willing to give a 1st round pick for that combo. Instead he settled for fucking Keon Johnson. We should have got a mid range 1st rounder.

And it was a week before the deadline….

    Bum.

Each day makes me want to pound my head against the wall for that HORRIBLE Powell/Covington trade.

Both of those guys have been most successful off the ball. Kyrie being set up by LeBron and KD being set up by Steph. Also Kyrie can run the pick and roll with Simmons and it will be dynamic. This offense just went from three guys playing iso ball one at a time to a more cohesive unit. Again though they just went from a no defense team to having the runner up DPOY from last season.

Nets can probably package those 2 first’s and Nicolas Claxton to Detroit for Jerami Grant.

No, they cant. They have no contracts to match the 20 million that Grant makes. (Joe Harris is not tradeable on his deal, and the Pistons have no need for him).

The stupid ass Powell/Covington deal accomplish nothing except give Balmer a good player for free. We only saved 4 million.

Make that one work for me... Claxton doesn't make ten percent of what Grant does, so how?

Trading for Richardson would have put another 12 million on the books next year. I dont know what the ultimate plan will work out to be, but that's why we wouldn't have made that swap with powell

Honestly all of our deals reek of inexperience and desperation. I'm embarrassed.

But that doesn't change the fact that they prefer to play with the ball in their hands. That's why Kyrie left. I think it CAN work but it all comes down to if they even want to play with Ben. Durant can't be happy right now.
