That dining are is already an addition. Looks like they added it in the 60s. There is already a crawl space. They are going to tear it down and rebuild and go out a few more feet it looks like. I’m quite sure the plan is to have a crawl space again.
We got our soaking bathtub already, until it is ready to move into the bathroom - it has been living in our dining room. The kids find this exceedingly entertaining. (We only use this room in special occasions, we usually eat in the Kitchen as a family). So, to answer your question, if your kids like the absurd as mine do, go for it!
There is a B&B out here in wine country that has a MASSIVE hot tub right in the kitchen. Like 8-10 people could fit in the hot tub, and you could be doing the dishes at the same time.
Wow looks fun. Welcome to the can of worms club. My last house was a 1940s house, so much character and so much work. Make sure you take lead based paint and asbestos precautions. You most certainly have lead based paint and might have asbestos..... Don't test for asbestos if you don't have to because you don't want to have to disclose that in the future, just take the precautions. Hipsters love those old PDX homes and when it sold I have people lining up for it.
We lived for a little over a year in San Anselmo, Marin county, CA - had a rental from the 1940 - first day we came in the owner gave me a bag with glass fuses telling me - keep these, you can't buy them anymore and if there is a fuse issue, this is the only solution... Old houses are a trip. The house we bought here was built in 1978 - and it is still outdated in many, interesting ways.
Lol, its called character! We moved into a 2017 build and I won't go back. I even get a new build discount on my insurance and pay about half of what I did. Didn't know that was a thing.
Best way to get rid of junipers, if you can, hook a chain up to truck/car a pull them suckers out. Roots and all.
If you get rid of the yards and build the parking underground, you can fit 4 units on one lot. Sell each for $1 milly.
Been away to Nashville for a while and with supply chain and labor issues - progress has been slow. Finally got the bathtub in, hope to have the vanity tomorrow and the counter-tops next week.
Well, it's a soaking tub, I have to admit that we put one in only for resale purposes as I doubt we will use it much, maybe we will because it is so deep. I believe it is a pulse soaking tub and I can't tell you the exact model but maybe this one: https://www.wayfair.com/home-improv...ding-soaking-fiberglass-bathtub-zzp10030.html It is a 67 inch or so which is why it is set at a 45 degree angle ( lack of space otherwise as we wanted a long enough shower and a long vanity. If you really want the details I can find the exact model later, but as I said, mostly bought for looks and availability if we decide to move when all the kids our out of the house and we want a smaller place. The filler is by someone else and was mostly bought to match all the faucets we will have on the vanity. Maybe Moen but again, I don't remember exactly since it's been a while since all the design and purchase happened since everything takes a long time these days. BTW - one thing I have learned - Plumbers love Moen - as the same valve design has been used for years, it is easy to service and always available - they also hate Delta with a passion. This pisses fixtures salesmen to no end - and if you care about the design - kind of limits your selection - but we went for ease of installation and service over over-all looks - because at the end of the day, it is just faucets and shower-heads - they are not as important, looks wise, as the rest of the design.
