What's even crazier is that Dame hasn't won a championship, with all of the allstar teammates he's had.... oh wait.
My friend, I'm so sorry, but the "Philly should have traded for CJ, instead" talk is about to heat up!
He’s 33 and hasn’t dominated shit this year. Isn’t getting 20 FT attempts a game anymore. Remember his disappearing act during that lone finals? It was epic. On par with a young Simmons in the playoffs.
This bengals defense has got no pub this year. They’re solid all around. I know all about them because they have 3 solid contributors who were on my Saints last year.
Hopefully we can bamboozle someone to give us what Harden got when we trade Dame then. Father time is undefeated. I think Harden will ball out the rest of this year though.
I think we could fetch something similar honestly. I just hope the Blazer brass does it before it’s too late. Hope it’s not some kind of Otis Thorpe type return.
I'm in the Phili got absolutely hosed camp. Unless Simmons is known to be damaged goods off the court, I don't understand why they gave up so much for James. I completely agree that they should have gone for some mix of CJ + Little and not additionally giving up the future with their picks in return for Ben... thats a better collection of talent around their true star Embiid. Harden is not the sort I'd want to try to build around... John Wooden quotes spring to mind. And youth not being on Harden's his side, they've the added pressure of win right now. STOMP
I think James if healthy give Philly a legit shot at beating Milwaukee. If he helps them win a cship Philly got the best deal. Long term Brook, unless Simmons cant handle the NY press and wants to take his ball and go home.
Harden can opt out and likely wants the Max - if given could easily become the worse contract of all time
Doc and Harden do not look like a good fit. So Doc will be replaced. But I can see Harden playing well in Philly for this year....only Overall it was a good trade for the Nets.
I never realized how unprofessional Harden was. Dude is a bigger diva than we give him credit for. Dude just goes to Vegas whenever his team flies to Utah and routinely shows up late when they're in LA, etc etc. And it seems Morey enabled all this behavior in Houston. No wonder CP hated him. Harden played against the Phoenix Suns in primetime Feb. 1, but that next night in Sacramento—which proved to be his final game in a Nets uniform—it became obvious to Brooklyn staffers that he was offering minimal effort, even less than he had in that subpar performance in Minnesota. He took just 11 shots and had more turnovers (six) than points (four). When the Nets arrived in Utah for their fourth game of a five-game trip, members of the traveling party were openly discussing their desire to swap Harden for Simmons. Staffers and players had grown frustrated by the special treatment granted to Brooklyn's superstars, sources said. Before Durant and Irving chose the Nets as free agents in 2019, Marks had constantly sold his vision of a culture rooted in family, an accountability to each other, an idea that nobody was bigger than the collective goal. That ethos had evaporated by early February. "The temperature of the room said, 'It's their world, and we're living in it,'" one person who was present that evening said. Harden didn't arrive at the Jazz game until halftime, sources told B/R. When it concluded and Brooklyn continued with its planned itinerary to Denver, Harden flew to Las Vegas, sources said. When asked to confirm the account, one person close to Harden chuckled before responding, "That sure sounds like James, doesn't it?" The short flight from Salt Lake City has made for frequent Vegas getaways for Harden dating back to his Rockets tenure, sources said. He would also stay behind following trips to Los Angeles and meet the team at its next destination. Daryl Morey afforded Russell Westbrook the same frequent flight privileges as Harden. And the Sunday before this year's trade deadline, Harden returned from Vegas to Denver but showed up late for the Nuggets game as well. Brooklyn figures still wanted to trust Harden. They needed him healthy for their inevitable run at the championship that everyone had pledged to make together. By all accounts, Durant maintained that faith as long as he could. "Kevin always had a hope that this situation could get better," one source close to Harden said. That is until Harden finally voiced what he'd been telling confidants for some time. He wanted to be traded to Philadelphia. He arrived on the Nets bench well past tipoff for the Boston Celtics game that Tuesday. Harden left Brooklyn on Wednesday and retreated to his old stomping grounds in Houston once more. While Durant and management labored over the Nets' impending conversations with the 76ers, Harden stepped into another night of clubbing. "He knew [the trade] was gonna go down," the source close to Harden said.
The dude got fat and that's all you need to know. I'd love to see him and Zion in a pie eating contest.
