well, if Dame gets back to that 62-63% TS mark, his usage remaining about the same would be a good thing.

I really think Dame will take on a Chris Paul approach being the navigator and getting others involved. Its not like he hasn't done that in the past. As CP3 does, he will score when needed but he allows Booker & others to fill the hoop.
No short cuts, Dame will get fewer shots but more assist.

In his post game interview Brooke asked Nurk about his play. Nurk said: "My teammates are finally trusting me." Meaning they are feeding him the ball. That wording says a lot about Nurk. I think he's kind of a big egotistical baby. If he isn't a featured player on offense, he just checks out. Feed his ego and feed him the rock, and he balls out. He can be a dominant force on both ends of the court when he's fully engaged. And Billups 'finally' has him fully engaged.

he should give it a chance, these players have shown they can score and handle the ball too and that dame shouldnt carry this team, but rather be a difference maker

Now that Dame is the team's patriarch, and with a good young team around him, I think he may be just fine not having to carry the team on his back every night.

over the decades it's been real common for a C to be unhappy with a small role in the offense. They like engagement. When Dame has been on, and healthy, he always made a point to keep Nurk involved, mainly thru PnR. The heavy iso offense of Stotts would sometimes freeze Nurk out of the offense, and we heard enough from Nurkic to know he wasn't a fan of Stotts. And the first half of this season was unsettled what with new offense, new rules and the uneven officiating, imbalanced roster, and buckets of injuries. So there was no consistency for Nurk. Now, there is

one thing though, with Dame, Simons, and maybe a player like Grant on the team, I'd think Nurkic's touches may drop this season from what he's had the last few weeks. We'll see how he reacts if that happens

they played a portion of this interview on a recent broadcast. Anyone know where to find the whole thing? i think she had some insight that we don't get in other places/interviews.

TB Courtside is like impossible to find on the site. They don't have any recordings from this year.

If Nurk is UNBEAVABLE, does that mean he is a DUCK fan?

You might be on your own with that silliness, but since in the bigger picture, I though the overall point was more obvioius, I'll try to do much better next time.

Joel Embiid is ranked 64th in eFG%, just ahead of CJ McCollum. How's that for picking it apart?

Nurk is shooting a career high 53.5% and unlike some centers he creates a significant number of his own shots as opposed to just dunks and tip-ins. Maybe you think the obscure stat of FG% is spinning it?

Big men have a tradition of not being happy with their roles on offense and that carrying over. That's nothing new under the sun. Shaq did it. Dwight did it. And Nurk has done it. If you want their best selves, you must have them engaged on offense. I don't understand the vitriol some Blazers fans have towards Nurk. He's been our best big man in a very long time and when used correctly, he's a top 5.

If you would like to compare Embiid who may end up being the MVP, and Nurk, feel free.

I'm comparing their eFG% which you seem to put quite a lot of importance in.

I do? Was just posting a ranking....and the horrible premise I would like Nurk to be more efficient from the field.

I assume you do since that's the only stat you used.

53.5% from the field for a guy who often creates his own shots doesn't seem that egregious to me.
