I sensed that you sense I have a micro view of the situation. What's your macro solution?

Improve our gini coefficient. Increase access to education, Healthcare and social safety net. Also, reform our policing and prison systems to focus more on recovery and education.

    I answered your question.
Would you please explain how the Woodson Center specifically addresses systemic racism? Or racism in general?

    1. Get money from the Heritage Foundation.

    2. Use that money to get donations from people like ABM.

    3. Send donors t-shirts

    4. Spend a tiny bit of that money to say there is no racism.

    5. Profit!

In and of itself, it doesn't. And I never pretended that it did. That said, I'm doing things within my immediate control, such as supporting a wonderful organization, that works to help solve these issues at the local levels.

These issues can't be solved that way. So if you're supporting policies at the national level which undermine local efforts which can't be effective anyway... I dunno man...

Never said they did. I'm more concerned/involved with the local level than the national level....and there's nothing wrong with that. Still doing my part.

You have got to be soaked to the skin right now, because trying to have an in depth discussion with a certain poster is like pissing into the wind. I had to take a break to put on some dry pants and get away from the stink……

So, let me get this straight.

You never said the issue of racism could be solved by local efforts, and your not concerned with and in fact support policies at the national levels that undermine what you claim to be doing at the local level, which doesn't solve anything as you never said they would, but you are doing your part?

    1) Local efforts are a GREAT way to eventually solve racism. As I had mentioned, it begins with the kids, who then become adults, who then can help make decisions at the national level. It ain't happening overnight, and I never said it would.

    2) Yes, I feel like I'm doing my part at the local level.

Heh, the Jews at that time (the ones who killed Jesus were no police state. They were pretty much controlled by one, though - the Romans - who wanted no part of executing Jesus. In fact, they offered Jesus to be freed (and annual mercy release). The Jewish people wanted no part of that and instead had the Romans release Barabbas, a well known insurrectionist.

When all else fails, blame the Jews.

I am not ignorant. I know Jesus was an observant Jew. Didn't stop his followers from massacring Jews. Or enslaving. Or storming the Capitol.

The politics and motives don't really matter. He was killed by a police state.

Wouldn't you agree this is helping at the local level? This is just one example.

    https://woodsoncenter.org/how-we-help/grassroots-empowerment/

Many individuals and organizations want to implement the Woodson Center approach to addressing social problems, but they need help to identify and engage with the appropriate grassroots leaders in their community. Woodson Center consultants have extensive experience finding and training such leaders while drawing on an established nationwide network of referrals and relationships, including, but not limited to CAN and VBMU.

Unlike organizations that view all low-income individuals through the lens of dysfunction, Woodson Center consultants identify and build on established success in the areas of upward mobility, violence prevention, educational excellence, vocational training, addiction treatment, and much more. They are able to conduct preliminary research, travel to the community, conduct fact-finding missions, compile data and prepare reports for interested clients. The result is a direct impact on target communities and often support for and expansion of our CAN and VBMU networks.
