Members of congress are profiting off of this conflict. That is disgusting. It should also be very illegal, as it is a direct conflict of interest. You cannot call for peace in a situation that you yourself, may very well, directly benefit from the outcome.

I don't really see how congresspeople owning oil stocks is a big conflict of interest here. Congress has very little to do with starting, or ending, the war in Ukraine. I'd rather congresspeople not be allowed to own individual stocks at all - but if we aren't going to do that, there are much bigger conflicts of interest to worry about. In the Ukraine case, defense stocks would seem to be a bigger issue than oil. barfo

This week I cheated on my wife, left my family, got into heroin, got drunk and wrecked my truck into a Walgreens, sold weed to some elementary school kids and gave herpes to a church gal. Lots of things are relevant news, they just don’t all push a narrative that make their sponsors money, so they get left out. Same reason NASCARs don’t have hearts, stars, horseshoes, rainbows and blue moons on them. They aren’t paying the bills.
