This question needs to be reworded to include... "...playoffs as an 8th seed with a Dame coming off surgery, and 8+ guys on the roster who will not be on the team next year."
The thing is, if the Pelicans pick conveys and we're going all in this off season, I have to believe that having all of our future first round picks available to us in trades would be more valuable than the pick we'll likely end up with. What's worth more in a trade, the tenth pick in this draft or three first rounders?
No, clearly this season is lost. We have been through the tank that netted us Roy, Aldridge then Oden. Hell, even Rudy. Then we were rooting for ping pong balls when we got Dame. The bright side here is that we keep our super star (Dame) and have some great youth and a few possible core guys with Hart and Winslow. We are in much better shape than before. These two possible lottery picks are huge. We might keep them, we might trade them. But they are much needed assets.
Does anyone remember when Nurk got hurt and was done for the season and everyone figured the team was done as well?
