whatever, before the all star break we won 4 straight with a still depleted roster and beat some good teams. We need that lotto pick and were going nowhere in any case, so why not play the young guys and get the best pick possible? Loys of games/minutes here for guys like Keon/Williams/Brown etc are invaluable and could increase their worth and accelerate their development

Chances are better this team will struggle to make the playoffs again with the built in excuse that the new guys will need time to gel while we all pray Lillard or Nurk don’t get injured again. On the contrary, this is the first time in years that I have felt better about the future of the team. Being an also-ran for years without any possibility for improvement was depressing and boring.

You obviously are not paying attention though I agree the Lakers are in a desperate spot. Thing is they will be better than the Blazers this year and they can pull a rebuild off in a year or two. They actually have a team and place players want to go to.

The Lakers are in a terrible spot, they traded away young talent and got only two trade chips worth a damn (Aging Lebron and fragile AD). Believe they also gave up some future draft picks. This team is going to be bad for several years when Lebron ages or leaves. Best chance they have to correct things is trade AD or Lebron asap before their value drops more. Right now AD is worth a good player and couple of draft picks at most. Lebron still has value but I wouldn’t want him past maybe 2 years
No argument on much of that except it’s “The Lakers” and you know as well as anyone that they have much more to work with on a yearly basis than the Blazers will. Lol at "lowest point of franchise"? We still have Dame to either keep or trade for more assets. Simons has blown up this yr and is 22, worse case is Simons equals Mccollum and you still have one of the best guard tandems in the NBA. Nurk likely returns, Nas was blowing up and playing very (both ways) well before injury and Hart is another solid 2-way player. Roco IMO sucked so no loss there, Powell was solid but Hart/Nas are better. We have at least one lotto pick this yr to keep or use to trade for another starter, a 21 mil TPE and another decent size TPE. IMO its ridiculous to call this the low point of the franchise, we can easily be at least tight back where we were before all this years injuries and possibly modestly better, a "contender" probably not unless we get lucky with a top 3 lotto pick and keep the second lotto pick to trade for another solid player. IF chance for a change comes our way (we get lucky) we could surprise to the upside.

huh so you agreed Lakers are in bad spot and then turn around and say they can’t suck because they’re the Lakers. I wouldnt trade rosters with them. We have superstar in prime, Simons who is better than any young player on their roster, Little who is probably as good as any young player they have, Hart who is better than Lakers 3rd best player and lastly we have two potential lottery picks this year and think Lakers have traded away most of their 1st rounds in the next couple of years.
