And here I thought the Republicans were leading the charge against “cancel culture”. Just one more example in an endless litany of hypocrisy by the anti Democracy/anti Constitution party. The party that wants to “Make America Great Again”. Christ this country gets more stupid every frickin’ day……….

DeSantis approved the renewal of the tax district earlier this year after Disney gave huge money to DeSantis' reelection.

Disney has stopped all political donations in Florida and now DeSantis wants to end the tax district.

I’d call him Trump Lite…..except he actually has a semi functioning brain……which makes him even more dangerous….

I'd say the Reedy Creek Improvement Act (signed in 1967) has served its purpose and that Disney has made its money back many, many, many times over since then.

Disney is pretty big business. Is it not OK to take on big business?

Of course it's ok to take on big business for the right reasons.

DeSantis is simply being corrupt and authoritarian... Big business us much less of a problem than corrupt wannabe despots.

Is he " taking them on" because of corruption or bad business practices on their end? Or is he doing it because he got his feelings hurt that they don't like his don't say gay bill?

Doing it in retaliation for cutting campaign contributions isn't very ethical! If he is doing it over their disagreement with his campaign of throwing red meat to his base at the expense of minorities, that is even worse. His demand for blind, slavish obedience may be acceptable in a banana republic, but the last I checked the US constitution doesn't grant that kind of power to elected officials.

Disneyworld was already expensive as hell. It will be interesting to see what sort of price increases there are.

They are going to have less and less people be able to come there. They have already priced so many people out. The funny thing is if they lowered their prices, they could probably make more money.

I wish they had the corporate cajones to take the Guv of Colorado up on his offer of political asylum. It would be hard on the company, but even harder on the state!
