I've got no doubts he will, I think he tried at the start of the year but it obviously wasn't working with our roster as constructed.

The hope is he no longer needs to shoot those 35 footers to keep us in games.

I don’t even think it was about keeping us in games. It was his response to defenses trapping him and Stotts inability to design an offense to address it.

This has not been my sentiment and maybe it's a lack of imagination but to me the best move for us and for Dame is to move on from him. We need to get a new GM in here and see what they think but most likely they should find the best deal for Dame possible and trade him for young players and picks. I mean if we were adding a high lotto pick and Grant, there was a way to see us as a contender even if I didn't think that Dame and Ant were a fit but now??? Nah, we need to build around Ant, our pick, what we get for Dame, the rest of our young guys and the 40M in cap space we can create, so we can overpay some young players by a bit and hope they grow into it.

Grant is no good. If that’s what we were getting for Pels pick, it’s no great loss. We still have our pick. And we have a superstar who wants to play in Portland. We should lock him up for the rest of his career. Trade Simons.

That superstar by all accounts really wanted Grant last I heard. I think the last time he expressed how down with this team he was, we had two lotto picks. It's going to look a lot tougher to build a contender around him during his prime now that we lost that huge chip.

yeah, that 11th pick was critical. I mean, the last time Portland had an 11th pick they landed Meyers Leonard

It was a necessary piece that we could have moved for someone who would have added wins to this team that is supposedly in win now mode. I just don't see any team doing that for future picks but I think there was one and possibly were more that would have taken that pick that they could have drafted a player with that impacted them next season for a player they no longer wanted.

We should wait some if they decide to move on from Dame. Im not for that as I still think we have assets to make deals, and lets give Dame a chance to perform healthy and play some defense.

I’m more laughing at the first post and those that said Ben Simmons is what Portland needs! We should trade CJ for him blah blah blah.

With what is happening with Simmons in Brooklyn, this sure aged well!

Dame isn't going anywhere soon. He still got easy 4-5 years left if not more.

There is no way we can count on getting another player as good as Dame in return for Dame. He's the only All Star we have, he wants to be here and will not throw us under the bus by demanding a trade, so we should keep him until he's ready to move on. If we can somehow add a 2nd All Star to Dame we'll be miles ahead of where we have been in years. Then we can fit parts around them.

That should be the goal, IMO. And I'm happy with us swinging for the fences in an effort to make that happen. Keep swinging Joe.

Dame will last a long time. He's in great shape and is a great shooter. His shooting is only going to get better. And he has said that he would be willing to consider adjusting his contract to make a deal that would put us in position to make a run.

I think we should take pity on @Rastapopoulos and trade him to a Lakers forum.

If they trade him to the Laker forum who do you want back in return? @slypokerlaker?
