MAGA people get excited about all kinds of stupid stuff. They aren't often very logical...

Is the argument that the 1st Amendment is racist because it allows people to say what they want?

I think the argument to allow everything the law allows is reasonable. I'm not sure how it will work, but it does seem like a reasonable position to take. If we don't like it we can change the law. If it turns twitter into a cesspool he'll lose a ton of money and there will be an opportunity for a newer and better network to take over.

    Who cares? It's his money....

But people are saying he's a racist. So I'm asking for actual evidence to support that.

The bigger response seems to be people like you crying about it, which in turn excites the MAGA people.

Free speech is great. Hate speech isn’t. Racism isn’t. Misinformation isn’t. That’s why we are in this predicament. Massive amounts of misinformation being spread without any ramifications. Musk sure seems like he wants almost anything to go under the guise of free speech. We will have to wait and see. If this happens, and he thinks it’s ok, I will continue to call him racist.

I think he has to be careful with that. Twitter already has guidelines of what they believe is dangerous speech.

If Musk comes in and changes that and a bunch of hate crimes start happening, fueled by Twitter, Musk will be held liable.

It's hard to believe he'd so foolishly jeopardize everything else he's working on.

Oh yeah, you're more than free to call him racist. I have no problem with that.

I was just hoping there was some clear evidence I could read up on. Even if it were second hand it would be an interesting read.

This is actually a solid point, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were that simple.

They are so desperate for something, anything, legitimate to further their cause (which appears to be to piss liberals off) that they behave like the sheep they claim liberals are...

There are a boatload of so-called "MAGA" people who aren't so MAGA anymore. Including myself. At any, rate, there will be a non-Democratic POTUS in 2024. Book it, Danno.

Well, if you aren't out there jumping on every "Let's Go Brandon" train you probably aren't following the MAGA crowd like Mary's little lamb.

I always thought Biden would have trouble winning a 2nd term. He's a populist president who's never been very popular, and has a history of supporting unpopular policies.

I can only assume the DNC thought he'd die his first term and they'd get to try and make Kamala Harris popular... Which would be tough, but probably easier than keeping Biden popular.

Most people weren't really thinking about his second term when he was voted in. Most saw him as a place holder to get Trump out. I think many hoped he would not rerun for a second term, which he is doing.

I like many others were hoping for him not to run again and for a new primary. But, I will vote for him again over Trump or DeSantis. I'll take another four years of boring old dude, over the cesspool either of them would bring.

I think alot of Democrats want new blood. Younger fresh candidates that represent a new generation and new ideas.

The “evidence” is his eagerness to give them a pass using the free speech card. If/when that happens. If you allow it to happen you support it.

You did. Generally a question mark at the end of a sentence is indicative of a question.

Too bad the left has completely trivialized these terms by applying them to literally anything they disagree with. It’s hard to pretend you like free speech while keeping your justifications for censorship completely ambiguous.

There is nothing ambiguous or trivial about it. Don't say racist shit. Don't say hateful shit. Why is that so hard? Why is it necessary to say any of the those things? Why are people on the right so bent on saying them? Just because they can? Sounds like a pretty stupid reason.

It seems straightforward to you because the people you disagree with politically are the ones generally getting censored. Now that ONE single major platform is offering a more open discourse without fringe left gatekeeping, you’re already screaming things like hate speech, racism and misinformation before any policies have even been changed. It’s really transparent why the left is pissed about this, they no longer have a politically biased ally on a major platform who is willing to impose strict censorship over vague interpretations of vague terms like “hate speech”.
