Thankfully the Chargers don't have a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round pick. I'd be devastated if they drafted this overrated Thibby dude and had ducks leading them on both sides of the ball in the near future. I don't even think I could root for them anymore...

Sad I have to green font that, after being told I have a complex for joking about this sort of thing, i.e. Herbert. Yes, I hate the ducks, but geez..

Maybe they can trade for a 1st round pick.

That sounds like a waste, but did you see how we used timeouts and the last minutes of games last year? It wouldn't surprise me.

They have a 1st round pick. Just not a high first-round pick. They pick at #17
Plus they are paying a shit load of money for an edge rusher in Khalil Mack

I stand corrected, what I googled said they didn't have a pick until the third round. How bad of a fan I am!

Glad he went top 5. Wish he would have gone higher.

The pick is in--you ready to root for a 300+ pounder named Zion?

I was thinking if you were talking the New Orleans Zion you shorted him about 30 pounds

No Beavers thread has ever been made. OSU fans here apparently don't want to talk about their school's sports, they want to troll Duck fans.

Just got that notification. I would rather root for a 300 pound Zion in San Diego than one in Portland!

So Kayvon goes #5 while our new coach's former Defense has 5 guys go in the first round including the #1 overall. I'm thinking this bodes well for Duck recruiting[/CaptainObvious]

it will certainly amp up defensive recruiting, especially with Lupoi, Tuioti, Powledge and Martin as defensive coaches. There's recruiting power there, and if the Duck D looks good next season, they'll be adding some elite defensive recruits. Lanning being able to say he coached a defense that had 5 first round picks will be golden

I do think quite a bit will pivot on Dillingham and his offense. If he succeeds, sky is the limit....until other teams start trying to hire assistants

Gotta love that SEC arrogance. I mean, it’s justified, but let’s see what Lanning can bring to the Ducks in the next few seasons.

Okay, I didn’t know that. So Bay Area jealousy then?

he has rarely written positive things about the Ducks. He was an AP voter a few years ago when one of Chip Kelly's teams was consistently rated in the top-5. Week after week Wilner voted the Ducks in the 13-16 range when the next lowest was around 7. Seveal national writers called out Wilner for this
