Imagine living in world (you probably don't have to imagine it obviously) where you just feel something isn't right, or doesn't feel right...and you go through your entire life hearing people tell you to just " be a man" about it, or "get over it" or "in my day, I didn't get a chance to have timeouts/adjusted education plans, etc". But you can't really explain what it is that doesn't feel right.

Then you throw on top of that, people who have struggled feeling typical, struggle with communicating with people, struggle with understanding peoples body language/context clues/etc, and NOW they all the sudden are having questions about their sexual identity/gender identity...and they're basically STILL being told "YOU need to change to match MY world view. Here's a neat camp!"

I think most of us, those of us with sympathy and empathy, know that it would suck. I honestly would not be surprised mental health/depression issues that arise from this and also the amount of suicide/suicidal thoughts they might have.

But Camp Jesus is the answer!

So the answer is no. Some self reflection would be good for you. Think about it. You didn't used to be like this.

The question to you is, what is it that I've said here to warrant the reactions? Please try to be specific.

Free advice.....change the title of this thread from "I'm dealing with ......to "my relative is dealing with" for a start. It's not about you in fact..

This thread has not been entirely about Alex. That resulted much later.

FTFY. It's quite possible that what they think is best is not best for Alex and/or their mental health.

You seemed earlier to have an interest in getting involved, take her out to do some "guy things" thinking that might make them reconsider their sexuality. But when it's pointed out they likely sent her to a conversion camp, you're just a messenger. I'd be livid if a family member sent their child to a place like that, personally.

Her ex husband took over. She's in Seattle, they're in Utah.

I don't think that is the context he used when he said "brother". It was in exasperation.

Not to be so flippant and intentionally misgender someone would be a good start.

    I mean since you're asking.
