What they count as lobbying money is irrelevant. So its $5M or whatever. The amount they spend direct to Politicians, to super-PACs, etc., to push their agenda is far far more than $5M. Mitt got $13M from them himself. The money IS a problem. If the NRA didnt give money away....half these politicians would tell them to F off
AR-15 have less than half the impact of typical hunting rifles? perfext. Ban those fucking guns they are useless for their actual purpose. Should be no controversy. Meanwhile they are pretty nice weapons to hunt humans. How is this even a debate
But many millions of Americans still agree with the 2nd ammendment. And in order to change it you'll need a constitutional convention wath a 2/3 majority or a very liberal Supreme Court. Neither of those things are likely to happen.
Or better yet, the minds that control the tendons that control the fingers? Seems the mind is where these things are first born. Why not start there?
Then there will be more deadly weapons used. Like hand guns, which kill thousands of times more humans than all rifles. And what part of the ar-15 do you ban? The size of bore? How exactly do you do this?
Coach and a son of two teachers, here. My dad was an Army Ranger and high school physics teacher. If there was ever anyone I would want armed in a school shooting situation it would be him, and even he says there is no place for guns in a school. I understand that is just one person's opinion, but still.
They NRA just banned guns.....from their own fucking convention this weekend. I mean. I hate to use this term but you cannot make this shit up. WHY? Why wont they allow guns? What in the world could they be worried about with thousands of good guys with guns? Surely nothing could go wrong with all that backup. Morons.
The same reason we don’t ban minds. Little difference between acting without speaking vs acting without thinking. Seems though, we might be onto something. If we ban heads then whether they speak or think they still cant see where they are shooting? I’m personally for banning eyeballs. We would all be much safer. Many bruises on our foreheads but we would not be shot dead. All in favor of an eyeball ban raise your hand!
I hear you. If you don't have incredibly secure schools (like steel and brick) or armed guards were going to see more of these. I'd personally prefer that we defend our students, but again, that's just my opinion.
Why did this kid get a gun though.. I've been asking myself "why" a lot the last 24 hours and it always comes back to that for me. He shouldn't have had access.
And they are actually incredibly useful for their intended purpose, which is for target shooting and hunting small animals.
