Hello. Didn't you also say Klay isn't a star even though he is a five time all star?
I'm trying to understand this logic, If you could please explain further, that may help me understand these opinions better.
    Thank you.

Contend? That’s all they do. That’s all they’ve done since 1977.

The only scenario in which I see us contending in the next three years is if we draft a stud in this draft, they turn out to be a Rookie of the Year quality player, and we make a run.

We need a second star. I don't see us being able to trade for one, or sign one, so the draft is our only hope.

All the more reason we shouldn't trade the pick for a Grant type of veteran.

Unfortunately based on Dame and Cronins rhetoric that's what I fear we'll do.

Which is more important to you? A great organization like the Blazers who help their community each day with no drama. Great group of guys or a championship team? You can’t have both.

Reading thru this makes me want the ncaa to instill a 2 year mandatory college requirement before they can enter the draft.
So few players come out as ready as Dame was and I'm positively sure it’s because of the one and done ability.

I don’t agree that you can’t have both. The Warriors have been a low drama group. The Bucks, Raptors, Spurs, and many others all were champions with good guys on the roster. The Blazers one championship team was a group of great guys, as were the Drexler-era teams that nearly got the job done.

Well most fans hated the jail Blazers and they came close and should have won a championship. That 2000 Blazers team arguably could be the best blazers team ever put together.

Championship team, no doubt, although I think it's a false question.

I would take back the Jail Blazers in a heartbeat. That team that went to the WCF against the Spurs in 98-99 was so much fun.

The team in 99-2000 was also amazing.

Those were not model citizens but I would love to have that team back.

Yeah, I wasn't on board with all of the "Jail Blazers" hate. The complaining was so fucking lame. They were my second favorite team in my lifetime and Clyde's Blazers were my first.

I still love Clyde. He was my childhood hero and he doesn't shit on Portland he just really loves the place he grew up and the place that gave him a free college education that became the springboard to his eventual assension to a multmillionaire. You can't make a comparison to Dame here because he didn't go to college in his hometown, he doesn't have a team there anymore to be traded to (in the Bay Area there's a huge difference between San Francisco and Oakland and it's not just the length of the Bay Bridge) and win his only championship with his college teammate. The fact that we're a far far distant second to Houston in Clyde's heart makes sense and doesn't bother me at all.

Celtics with no PG but with 2 dynamic wing defender in Tatum and Brown… can they beat the Warriors?

Series will likely pivot on Curry vs Smart

Yeah, if Smart can limit Curry's offense and exploit his literal weakness on defense, the Celtics would have a lot better chance of winning.

The jail blazer era exposed our fanbase for the fickle front runners that they are.

Nobody gave a rats ass about our guys when we were winning. Nobody boycotted when we were right there with the Lakers. But as soon as the team took a fall. As soon as it was the Telfair era, all of a sudden the fans grew a conscience and couldn’t in good faith support the team.

    It was a total farce.

And then we got Roy and Aldridge and we started winning again and magically the fans felt like it was okay to support the team. What a load of bullshit.

It looks bleak doesn't it? We need a third player to step up, score an average of 20 points a game. be a rebounding machine and be capable of strong defense. Who knows? Before the start of the season, I believe there will be major changes to the team.

You can call it fickle all you want but winning is what it's about.
The team went to the conference finals in 1999 and 2000. Probably should have won the Championship in 2000. Then Dale Davis, Shawn Kemp and let Bonzi wells run rampant and guess what?
That ain't Fickle. That is just plain Bad management doing bad management moves. Then they fire Dunleavy and hire Cheeks?
That line there tells me you simply were not there or weren't paying attention.
At that time i was writing on the team daily. Believe me if the team wasn't a complete disaster the fans would have been fine.
