Wife and I put our rings in a safe place until covid is passed...my doctor said washing hands thoroughly doesn't work if you are wearing a ring....no hiding places for covid nerf balls....when you're old nobody gives a shit if you wear a wedding ring or not because you are no longer attracting attention anyway...it's also why you can get away with living in sweat pants and sweat shirts everywhere you go. Young folks who still think they're on the market after marriage have some tough lessons ahead.

I'm starting to plan a proposal, I found my person. My question is, how did you ask your bride to be what type of ring they prefer??? They have to wear it everyday, obviously they want something they like. Any thoughts?

    Congrats, my friend!

How long have you two been going out?

Does she have a hot sister or mom who likes dogs?

    ...

    You got Costco?

Take her to Costco, as you wander around the store go over to the jewelry cabinet and pretend to look at a watch for you. Then pick out a woman's piece of jewelry that you legit think is ugly. Point it out to her and say that. Then use that as a way to start a conversation about the type and styles of jewelry she likes. Point out necklaces, bracelets, earrings, etc. Women love to talk about jewelry. You'll quickly learn her likes and dislikes and you can use that to buy the ring.

Not saying you should buy from Costco but they do have very fair and honest deals. The Costco thing works great vs taking her directly to a jewelry store because she'll instantly know something is up.

I took her to jewerly stores, she kept on changing her mind.

Eventually I bought a cheap CZ ring on Amazon and used that to propose and then let her pick up the ring style she wanted.

Also Costco will let you trade any jewelry you buy there up for something different or more expensive.

Buy a really cheap ring, dirty it up, and then tell her a story like this.

Tell her he has had it up his ass the whole time they've been together?

Jeez, that kid was quick to take a watch that had been up two guys asses for years. Mind you, it was in good shape for being up two asses for years. Still.

Think about who she is. The things she likes. What she reminds you of or makes you feel. Then get a ring that speaks to that. You can't lose.

Thank you! We've been talking and dating since Thanksgiving of last year. WYKYK though...

She has a twin sister, but is more of a cat person. Sorry.

    Good suggestions!

There is so much irony here.... I just don't feel like I should put it on the forum. Some things are better left unsaid.
