As a Blazer fan I'm not sure if that is encouraging or depressing. All rumors and insiders point to us actively looking at trading the #7 lottery pick for non-star veterans. So if that happens, I guess your point is the Blazers would be a historically stupid franchise.
damnit, i was trying to edit that post, but deleted by accident. that was about 20 mins wasted. Anyways... only three lottery picks out of the past 10 years of drafts (150 picks) have been traded in deals involving only established players coming back in exchange. - 2016: Indiana trade #12 and Goerge Hill for Jeff Teague - 2014: CLE traded #1 for Kevin Love. -2013: NO traded #6 for Jrue Holiday.
what if Milwaukee becomes a lottery pick? Is 7 & say 12 worth the number four in this draft if we have to also give up one of Little or Ant?(assuming youngster means rookie contract with good upside potential?) Seems like alot to give up for a player that isn't a sure fire starter from the get go?
rather not give up Milwaukee, I would do 7 & something else futures and/or youngsters. Now if Houston was interested in 7, Little for 3? in a minute.
I'll actually be a little discouraged if we don't use the Milwaukee pick in a trade this offseason. If we're serious about building a contender around Dame as soon as possible and can get good value that impacts playoff wins this upcoming season, out of a pick that projects to be in the back half of that draft we definitely should.
I am of the opposite. I would like to use the Milwaukie pick now in a trade, trade down with our 7. Draft the better of the two and use the lower of the two in another trade. Use the Milwaukie and lower of this years two picks in trade and draft with the better of the two. We still get to draft a lotto pick and have two firsts to also use in trades. I think this is the only way to bring in impact players now, while still drafting for the future.
Absolutely! They need to make sure to tell the entire league their thoughts and intentions. Are you serious??
Not their actual thoughts and intentions; just the hypothetical thoughts and intentions of a franchise that will expect a king's ransom for the most valuable trade asset they have.
Sometimes I think it’s good to remind oneself that nobody has seen this roster’s top 8/9 even play together. Throw in the top 8+ the 7th pick. With this coaching staff. So you might have reservations, which is normal, but nobody actually knows shit yet.
I would absolutely trade the 2025 protected first rounder for Grant or OG. That's it. With the 36 pick, i see big time value in Auburns Walker Kessler and/or Arkansas Jaylin Williams.
L O L That coupled with the fact that we have received dog shit in return over the past recent transactions. No to the Rumors. Just a simple "We've seen the rumors and that is all they are. We have a lot of guys we will take with the seventh pick and we have contingencies on all of them". I just hate it that the pick is undervalued and everything thinks we are gonna dump it. Folks will try to take advantage of the Rookie.
Damian Lillard Josh Hart Jusef Nurkic Justise Winslow Anfernee Simons Nassir Little Trendon Watford if on the roster, those guys will get playing time. one or two additions via free agency or trades plus a 7th pick (unless included in trade). I would give that team about till the trade deadline and either they’re tinkering with it and feeling good or it’s blow up time.
Too many people in here think other teams are getting intel like we do…from the media. Teams know what teams are trying to accomplish. You don’t know what Cronin is saying to other GMs
You sound like a guy that drives around in a 70's Model White Van that has "Free Hugs" spray painted on the side of it.
