Another fake tough guys team. Why do these teams think they can intimidate the rangers with Reaves on the roster

The addition of Reaves can't be overstated. The Rangers can't be physically intimidated with him on the ice. Huge signing this off-season.

Great win to start the series but I will say this. The rust was apparent and TB is going to be a better team in Game 2. No reason the Rangers can't hang with them and win Game 2. Let's go!

I'm not buying the rust excuse...tampa played very well for the first 20...rust would show and get blown out in the first period not the send half of the game

Thats fine but if you think that the way TB played the last two periods of the game is indicative of what they are capable of you have another thing coming. Just look at their passing and (missed) shots...that timing being off is a product of not playing. They are going to be better game 2 and the Rangers need to be ready for it.

It's far from over as it's only one game. That said with all the lines playing well and Igor this can be a dangerous team.

Yes, this series is not over yet. But what I saw after the rangers adjustment after first period is the Tampa defense looked very slow and they had no answer for the kid line. Igor is the X factor making big saves when he has to and vasilinsky looked worse than the backups we just beat. You guys are underestimating our rangers who can play with anybody. Commentators running out of excuses why we win; backup goalies, too much rust etc. Fact is we are good, they have no answer for our kid line and losing that line of Goodrow, gourde and I forget the other guy from that line makes a big difference with this Tampa team

Scrums are different now just a bunch of wrestling. Reaves toyed with them. That was great how he bitched out Maroon and rattled McDonaugh. That was putting him in check about the Panarin hit. McDonaugh didn’t win damn shyt here. He hurt the team when he hurt Zuccarello in 2015. He fell on to a good team with TB. I hope someone lights him up next game with a huge hit

The Rangers will be hoisting the Cup and there will still be guys posting "Yeah but...". Dominant game physically and offensively, we shall see about the rust which seemed to impair the Bolts when they played the Blueshirts during the regular season sweep too.

Great game, awesome win, team clearly belongs, it is nice to see us have a series lead for once, and this will be a close series that we can win.

With all that said, we are playing the two-time defending SC champs, who have won 10 straight playoff series, have won 18 straight playoff games after a loss - 18, and we are saying series isn't over yet as if that is even a question after one game? Asking who picked the Rangers in this series after one game, as if that's now the way it will be? Are we serious. Come on fellas, this team we are playing lives for this stuff. Go look at the results in game 2 against the Leafs after they got whipped in game 1.

Not saying we can't or won't win, we absolutely can, but slow down a bit on the series stuff after 1 game. LONG way to go, despite the great game 1 performance.

So what you’re saying is you still stand by your prediction? Please stop giving us these fancy stats you heard from the media. This team has proved you wrong already lol

All I am saying is one game does not make a series, and it is quite frankly ridiculous to act as if the series may be over, or say I picked the Rangers I was right, after one game. We are playing a very good team that has comeback time and time again. Let's enjoy and hope the Rangers can pull it out.

And picking the Canes and TB to beat the Rangers I have no qualms about. Yes they proved me wrong against the Canes, and I am happy they did. Those are two very good teams. We are a very good team also. Someone has to lose these series. Hopefully it will be TB in this one, but either way nothing is close to settled after one game.

It seems like one should lean toward picking the Rangers on a Rangers message board especially when they have proven summertime doubters wrong all year. The hand wringing over adding grit in the offseason turned out to be unfounded, doubts about the coach should be resolved for rational fans (GG should have won the Jack Adams Award) and most importantly the concerns about youth development seem silly now as the playoffs roll along. The Rangers scored more goals in Game 1 than the Panthers did the whole series and they don't appear to be intimidated by Tampa's goons - quite the opposite. Who is playing with more pressure now? Let's Go Rangers!
