    Phil Knight and Alan Smolinski are successful businessmen.
    Jody Allen is the very fortunate sister of Paul, and by all appearances not a successful businessperson. (judging by the Blazers, Seahawks, and Sounders fall from grace)
    Mr's. Knight and Smolinski will own the Blazers, and it cannot happen soon enough.

    It was a good idea for Phil Knight to get out in front of the process. He is showing that he is seriously interested in ownership of the Trail Blazers and not just another name in the hat.
    It might not look good for Jody if she sells to somebody from out of state.

    It was said in many threads, many times, usually, people would tell me and other Phil Knight ownership fans that it was unlikely based on past quotes and his age. I would always reply "Ok well it's still my dream scenario!".

    What do you expect the Blazers to say when this offer was supposed to be private and assuming the team if not up for sale as of this moment is getting ready to be then the team has to play this smart. We all want Jody to go to them take the 2b dollar check and hand over the team like 2min ago but this is a complicated process that needs to play out and NOT in the press.
