Team fit and asset value are two different things.

Agreed. Way too slow footed to be a premier player.

Not when team fit affects the asset value.

    - Wiggins with the Timberwolves
    - Wiggins with the Warriors

same player, drastically different asset value.

My hope is that (if they don’t take Duren) in the second round Portland takes Ismael Kamagate. I got to watch him in person at the all star game in France last year, and he’s been one of the best defenders in French league for a couple years now. If you like the Robert Williams type, you’ll like Kamagate.

Wiggins was definitely a star in the Finals.

How’s this lineup? Is it even possible? Dame, Hart, OG, John Collins, Nurk

It's not that bad of value.

Bouknight is probably heavily undervalued right now, but even so, I'd take #13 over him.

If we can turn 7 + Mil pick + Keon into Grant 13 + 15, it's not crazy.

No. Raptors are not going to trade OG... so not possible right now.

While I like Collins, he's not much of a perimiter defender. Grant would actually be a better fit in that regard.

agreed on Bouknight. Would also likely go with 13, and move him to Detroit. Although I am guessing Detroit wouldn't see a need in both him and Keon.

    This is a bad take.
IMO, Collins is on par with Grant as a defender. Neither one is elite. Both are good/slightly better than average.

I take Collins every day of the week over Grant as a player.

We need to walk away if that's what they are doing. I don't even want to give up #7 for OG. That's not a good deal. Anything added to that from us would be awful.

OG’s advanced numbers are pretty mediocre.

Raptors GM running circles around these noobs.

That's not been the general assessment but I'd love to see some numbers on this.

Drafting and keeping Sharpe > any of the names we've been linked to.

It’s a risk, guess it depends on whether you think OG has another level in him or if he is what he is.

I'm more concerned about his ability to play the majority of games than if he has another level. I think he does and he's already one of the best on ball defenders in the league.

I went back and watched a couple of games from this year and focused directly on both Grant & Collins to see which one was better. IMO, Collins is CLEARLY the better player. Defensively, they are about equal in my eyes.

The issue with 'numbers' is that they are highly correlated to the team and there is a lot of noise in the defensive metrics. However to appease your request, I'll give you ORtg & DRtg in comparison to the team averages (since they are mostly a team metric). Having said that, I don't put a lot of stock into these metrics.

    GRANThttps://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/grantje01.html
    Pistons ORtg: 106.0
Grant ORtg: 109 (~3 pnts better with Grant)

    Pistons DRtg: 113.8
Grant ORtg: 114 (Grant was average for the team - or did not cause a deviation)

    COLLINS https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/collijo01.html
    Hawks ORtg: 116.5
Collins ORtg: 122 (~5-6 pnts better with Collins)

    Hawks DRtg: 114.9
Collins ORtg: 114 (Collins improved defense for the team)

Neither player had a material difference on their team's defensive performance. John Collins is a significantly better offensive player though.
