You think a guy that hasn't played a competitive game above high school should be handed minutes on an NBA team that wants to win? That seems pretty....optimistic. I think he could eventually earn minutes as a rookie, but to expect them to just be handed to him is setting yourself up for disappointment.

    Hello,

I think you might be able to answer that? You brought up the critical thinking expressing no one is doing so, did you not?
Critically thinking how would you steady the unsteady ship?
You heard what Cronin said, right?

So personally, if i were to come in here and knock everyone for not critically thinking I would at least provide a realistic example of an alternative move that would provide what you want.
So , what is your example of critical thinking with a scenario that would instAntly make us a condender in 1-2 years?

No. As a journalist it's a good think to earn it somehow

Ffs. This is the counterpoint! You are saying the counterpoint as the point!

I think I have to give up. These explanations are too distressing to read.

If they are serious about winning in the next 3 years, Davis or Sochan are closer to contribution than Sharpe. If they are looking for a long-term plan, IMHO Duren would have been the pick. Tremendous upside and a proven track record for competing against decent competition.

Looks like we could have had Duren too. I would have preferred that over Jerami Grant.

Goodman isn't the only one that really liked Sharpe.

I was replying to someone about critical thinking. I'm not *that* smug.

And I'm not the GM. I can just say this isn't the move...and hopefully the move is coming.

Goodman dialed it back a bit recently on that same podcast. But he still loves him.

    This shouldn't be the mindset.

If our team is currently a tier 4 team.

Boston and GS are tier 1 teams.

Does Sochan or Davis really get us that closer to Golden State or Boston? No.... not really. Right now we're probably a fringe playoff team, simply because of Dame and Grant, but would either of those guys take us up an echelon? Highly highly doubtful, and I don't think that changes in the next couple years. I really don't think people are being realistic about how far we are from truly contending. That's why I have always been a proponent of trading Dame and starting over. I think we're a long way from contending and I really don't see us bridging that gap by the time Dame is on the downslope of his career.

And even if we had traded the pick, I'm not convinced that anyone who was available would have really taken us up into the top echelon either. We need someone like Kevin Durant or another similar star caliber player to really and truly change our stars.

To mean it feels like they are straddling the lane: trade for Grant being going for it and keeping the 7th being not going for it at all.

Truly a legendary player. We were fortunate to have him.

    That’s what we need… Andre Miller 2.0

Maybe Sharpe has Andre Miller BBIQ. Never know… There are things you can’t teach, that’s what separates players. Right place right time, being dominant at something in particular, etc…

unless they think Sharpe is going to contribute as much or more than someone they can trade for. Btw Toronto wanted to much for OG so that wasn’t even an option

Our dumbass coach hated the guy because Andre was smarter than him. Remember when he called him out in front of the whole team?

It’ll be interesting to compare Shaedon Sharpe and Jalen Green down the line. They’re projected to be similar kind of players. In terms of size, Shaedon grades out as a better overall prospect: both are around 6’6 in shoes, Shaedon is probably 15-20lbs heavier, and has a superior wingspan/standing reach (6’11.5/8’7.5 vs 6’7/8’5). That’s really exciting.

Green came into HOU as the clear cut number 1 guy. Sharpe is probably not even going to get 15mpg this year. But I’m interested to see if the benefit of being in a better situation (all star veteran guard, HOF PG head coach, a better overall team) will help Sharpe develop Green into an overall better player down the line.

Maybe the best young team/rebuild coach and simultaneously the worst playoff winning coach in the league.

We could have had Duren too. Detroit used our 2025 Milwaukee pick to get him. Oh well.
