Thank you for posting this. Finally someone gives the Blazer's side instead of just say "WTF why did they get Grant and draft Sharpe."

Before people go nuts, i know what made Kobe... kobe was his ridiculous work ethic. Im only talking about their size and strengths. Kobe was almost exactly the same height with the same weight and winspan early on. He turned himself into an all nba defender as well.

My Guess: The Blazers firmly believe Ant and NAS are the real deal. They love Hart. They are fine developing Sharpe for a year, and they will find ways to get him some game seasoning as he progresses. If he can contribute sometime after the all star break, and with the tutelage he's going to get that's a real possibility, that's gravy. Bottom line, they think they drafted a future all star, whether or not he earns playing time this season. Isn't that the point of the draft?

 

I avoided too much deep diving in to prospects, because I didn't want to fall in love with any of them, figuring we were going to be moving the 7th pick. So now I get to dive in on Sharpe, and it has me more and more excite for the pick. Dame was on board, so it doesn't have to be a win this very season move. Cronin has talked about how this isn't a one year to contender fix. And I thin it makes perfect sense to straddle between both. There doesn't have to be a push all the chips in on this season move, because, as all of us have kind of discussed, there wasn't going to be that sort of ability. IMO, this year is a stepping off point for next season, where we could potentially make some real noise.

 

Twitter rules are unclear on this. I have 5.5k followers now. Which is quite a lot in my market (swiss ice hockey ). The fact that I work for a national media has helped my case I guess.

 

It’s not lazy. What is a highlight film that shows the best of the best of a player going to tell me? I want to see game footage, watch his floor placement, footwork, what he does off the ball. Highlight packages don’t tell me anything.

 

That’s been my question. What or who makes an account legit? My account is legitimately my account and I’m the only one who posts with it?
So I should probably get a checkmark also as well as the hoops jock but as he explained you need to be part of associated press or have a ton of followers. Now I wonder exactly how many followers it takes?
I’m probably not going to make it a goal in my life to get a blue checkmark though.

I read a lot. A LOT. So I read what is said about those guys. All of them. Short clips of a guys best work don’t tell me much. If there were full game clips, I’d pay attention to that.

I had Kobe as my comp as well in a few of my posts from yesterday. Size wise, they’re both 6’6 and 190-200lb, Sharpe with a slightly longer wingspan and standing reach.

From the tape we’ve seen, Sharpe could be like he has the ability to play like Jalen Green or a young Kobe, but he looks like he’ll probably play like a 6’6 Paul George.

You would really have to ask though, being that he seems like he’ll eventually be a bonafide scorer, is he ever going to develop the hunger to play defense the way Kobe did? Kobe was just a different breed man. I have relative confidence Sharpe will be a better 3pt shooter that Kobe though.

 

You make it seem cheap? Almost sleazy? Probably should have gone with FITTY!

Speaking of blue checkmarks, @Travis Demers has been thwarted numerous times by Twitter and he's the actual radio voice of the Blazers. I've given up trying to figure out their requirements.
