Forum Game Sharpe or KD

I know there are already KD threads but I want a poll. Being that Sharpe would likely have to be in a trade for KD, who is more important to you? Sharpe’s potential or a 34 year old KD?

 

Its Dame Time....If KD wants Portland and Dame wants it to happen, well, that kind of settles it.

 

As always with these types of questions, my answer is largely contingent upon who we are giving up. Unfortunately the OP is too vague to provide a solid answer.

 

If you believe there is a 50% chance Sharpe becomes an all-star it's better to keep him.

Younger and on a cheap contract. KD is old and on a supermax.

That said I vote KD. Hopefully Sharpe impresses at summer league, if so many opinions around here will change.

 

I’m not giving up Sharpe cause ideally, would would want to bring up Sharpe behind Dame and KD.

I’d offer Simons + Little + Hart and other salary + 3 1sts and 3 pick swaps and hope that beats out Miami, Toronto, etc. Even with multiple years on his deal, you don’t trade for KD without him wanting to go here so you get some kind of trade leverage anyway. You have to find a way to keep Sharpe out of any trade talks.

You take Durant to pair with Damian. The tougher question is if you'd be willing to include Ant in a deal. Potentially the best future backcourt of the NBA.

 

KD is a top ten player in the history of the game. He is a top 5 player in the game right now. Dame is a top 10 player right now.

That is the recipe for a championship.

We don't want that because of Shaedon Sharpe?

 

I don't like KD and I don't want KD. But we owe it to Dame. If he wants us to send Sharpe for KD I'd support it, and I'd even root for KD.

 

Part of the reason I’m answering early is because this question is asked too early. Obviously I could look like a complete fool after SL.

In the likely scenario that KD doesn’t want to come here anyway, does any of our opinions matter?

I'm with Dame. Let's do what we can to get that man a title. If trading both gets us closer and Dame is on board... I'd do it.
