    That's the important part.

I live in LA and drive by rows of camps every day to work. It's quite sad, definitely not just Portland. Portland does look pretty bad though because they don't have the shelters and housing that other cities do. It's become an extremely visible part of Portland. And downtown continues to be a shell of what it once was. But I'm sure we can agree, millionaire athletes don't check out the homeless per capita when deciding on destinations.

One of us here probably has a better chance of winning the lottery then Durant getting traded here.

Have you ever heard a player say he didn’t want to be drafted by the Lakers, or didn’t want to be traded to them, or thought LA was too far from home? I haven’t. In fact, it’s just the opposite. Players LOVE the idea of being a Laker. They think its glamorous.

Not sure that Ayton is going to see the Nets as a primo destination.

This destroys free agency for any teams that want a shot at Durant. Also would think it hurts signing your own players?

Jake said to keep an eye on Toronto.

    OG, Barnes, and Trent?

I think it would be Barnes or OG (and you'd need ton more in draft capital in the OG scenario). Barnes would certainly be near the top of the Nets wishlist.

Kevin Durant trade rumors: Ranking all 29 teams as possible destinations as KD asks out of Brooklyn
Still, these are all teams Durant simply would not be interested in joining. They're the easiest cross-offs. Why trade for a player who...

If you wait. If you get really aggressive making offers to people who aren't getting them from other teams who are waiting to see what happens you might land someone who might have gone elsewhere for the same price. You would be showing them that you don't care what else might become available, you want them. I mean that's the theory, it's also a huge gamble because if someone does end up available that you want at the same position you've already committed money to it.

I guess we'll see in a little over an hour. If tweets don't just start popping off like crazy then I guess you're right but I think the vast majority of teams and players will be able to gauge if they'll be able to get involved with this and very quickly move on to guaranteeing they get their guy, from the team standpoint and they get their money where they want it, from the player standpoint.

No, but I have heard players want to go closer to home. We just happen to be one of the furthest places from their home if they are from the east coast. I feel like that was one of the deciding factors for Greg Monroe signing with the Bucks when we were hot on his trail back in 2015.
