I'm surprised we didn't go after TJ Warren...but then again maybe he had no interest in us anyways so we had to go with GPII.
I think Joe is setting up for a potential trade. Other than signing our own assets, i didn't think we would be signing anyone. Payton is a nice addition.
You do know we're talking Steve Kerr right? If so, please explain how one of the greatest deep threats in the history of the game who was (IYO) a "great defender" made the vet's minimum for most of his 15 year career. Over the course of that long professional career, he started a total of 30 games. He had the 3 but not the D. STOMP
They have to do that. It's exactly what the Sixers did with Embiid and iirc, he was out longer than Zion was.
Is it possible they squeeze Nurk here to keep more room below the apron? No team is going to hard cap themselves for Nurk. His market can't be above the Tax MLE at this point, and the teams with capspace won't bother. It would definitely sour on the relationship, but what can we do? If we can get him to a contract around 10-12 mil, then we would have more flexibility to make trades around the deadline.
underpaying someone is not cool at all pay people what theyre worth, simple as that nurk was already underpaid on his previous contract, if they do it again, he should tell them to go fuck themselves
Slavery? For a volunteer contract signed by someone for double-digit millions of dollars per year....to play a game? That is a disservice/disrespectful to those who actual suffered through slavery.
when you're dealing with the CBA, the cap, and max contracts, this isn't a free market. And if we're giving him a deal larger than any other team, how is that not paying him what he's worth?
this is modern day slavery were not gonna pay you what you deserve, but instead were gonna underpay you cause you cant get better offer elsewhere and of course everyone would expect nurk to perform at his highest level and if he dont, well, lets jsut say comments wouldnt be pretty
context matters some teams dont have money, some teams prefer other type of center, some teams prefer to invest in other positions, some teams already have a center theyre happy with, its really not simple as you put it
It is not slavery simply because he does not have to sign if he does not like it, so stop with this nonsense.
I'd be shocked if Nurk signs a team friendly deal. The way he sat out the end of the season seems like he was promised an enticing amount. If the Blazers need space under the apron or to dip the tax more likely IMO they trade Winslow, Little, trade/stretch EBEC, etc.
lol i don't think you have any context on what slavery is. please stop using that term for this situation.
