Nas is on a nice trajectory to be potentially special. I think he has a higher ceiling than Ant. Plus, a trade could be in the works to acquire another SF.
I wouldn't call it an epic disaster. I would call it par for the course. The fact that so many people are quick to defend these moves and think we have a chance, or are just downright accepting of a middle of the road team that best case scenario they get to the second round without many assets to change that is what baffles me. To each their own. But i'll continue to call out bad moves. And happily eat crow otherwise.
Nope, I was on the Sharpe train because I said for a long, long time that we won’t become a contender. But you’ve got to use your assets in an intelligent way. GP2 is not that. But more importantly - we are replicating what already didn’t work. Small guards. Unbalanced roster.
Agree on the short, but with Hart + GP2, the no defense has certainly been addressed, so that part is wrong. Correct on both accounts, but replacing CJ's 33m contract for Hart + Ant means there is a lot more flexibility to make moves going forward. The team is still unbalanced, but now has much easier contracts to move if the opportunity presents itself.
I think a few of us believe this line of thinking. A good chunk think we should give him that absurd extension.
It was a bit hyperbolic with “epic disaster” but so far it’s a complete fail. Cronin self proclaimed goals were: Better roster balance: Nope. Size/Length/Athletcisim: Nope. Flexibility: Maybe(?) but I don’t see it. Talent: Better, but that’s pretty much only because of Sharpe. Grant too. More assets: Slight improvement possibly(?).
Gees Louise - you dont know what else is in the works... give him till at least end of summer. We have assets.
Cronin 400 times: "It's not going to happen overnight" This forum on day 1 of free agency: "Why aren't we immediate title contenders?!?! Whaaaaaaa"
I remember seeing a meltdown thread somewhere? Seems we could probably merge some threads and move some posts.
Powell, Roco, CJ, Nance vs. Hart, Grant, Sharpe, Payton We have high hopes (myself as well) for Sharpe. But, I don’t think we upgraded the roster much. At least in terms of Lillard’s “championship window” (which is a pipe dream the way this organization is ran)
Hmmm.... you must be watching a different show than me. All I'm seeing is, "Why do we have a bunch of short guards again?!?!?! Whaaaaa"
To be honest it seems like the folks that can't take criticism about the team and their decisions are the ones melting down.
They should let this forum manage the team! Make me Co-GM of the Portland Trailblazers The rest of you are Co-GM too. Well most of you. @42N8Bounce @illmatic99 @Rastapopoulos @SlyPokerDog @HailBlazers @TBpup @Charcoal Filtered @KSF-ERIC @Strenuus @BigGameDamian @Darkwebs @Natebishop3 @hoopsjock @BonesJones The first to come to mind. Yes BGD is Co-GM, don’t argue!
I just don't understand the strawman arguments. It would be like me saying: All the homers on this forum: "I love losing! Pay Dame his money! We should be happy just making the playoffs! *vigorous jerking noises*"
