Just from those pictures, I'd diagnose this kid as less of the typical mass shooter, and as more of an attention whore.

And yes, I am a doctor.

There is no way to get all the millions of parents to watch what their kids are doing. Again, parents should be doing that. But, if that's your solution how do you propose we do that?.

It's easier to restrict access to gun purchases, hold parents responsible for gun storage, and to shut down websites where these dark ideologies are being taught to kids. Those are feasible things.

I fail to see how proper parenting is so hard but gun elimination isnt.
I have also failed to hear any realistic answer to only felons having guns. Restricting guns only affects law abiding citizens. In a country where everyone is so up in arms that police cant protect them, It makes zero sense to then try to take away armed protection rights from citizens. The reality is then only criminals will have guns and all citizens will have to rely on the police for safety.
How has that been working so far? Not good from what i read.
I am for some gun restrictions. Not all. But many here who are debating, just scream guns. Until those individuals start specifying, one can only assume they mean all guns, and if so they should be able to answer the above question I would think?
I would be all ears(or eyes in this setting). I am for anything that will realistically curtail this epidemic we have going on. But I also want to maintain the right to defend myself, which in todays country, usually means owning a firearm.
What is difficult to comprehend is the anger and hostility gun opposers have towards those who are trying to see other alternatives to “just banning guns”, As if the majority of those for gun rights are not equally dismayed, disgusted and possibly in support of this wackjob and others like him.

He was a Supreme Court Justice. And the majority of Supreme Court Justices disagreed with him... Several times. And before the court was corrupted.

He was wrong. As the majority of supreme court justices have ruled. Multiple times.

Well, I try do link a lot of sensational posts from a wide variety of topics. I'll try to be a little more cognizant of this if it is offensive or triggering to you.

The linked post in this thread clearly stated the shooter dressed as a woman, probably to aid in his escape.

There is no way to hold parents responsible for gun storage without violating the 4th amendment... Unless you're only going to be punishing parents after their child has committed a crime... in which case, we already do that.

I don't think the government can shut down websites like that without violating the 1st amendment, either. Except for very specific types of content. That would take an act of congress to expand, and I think the will to do that has probably left the building until the next time Dems have the trifecta... and even then... I'm not sure how much restriction of the 1st amendment I'd support...

I'd much rather focus on improving our social services to improve our gini coefficient. There is no down side.

Not saying the ideas you're proposing are bad, just that they probably aren't easy to enforce more strongly than we are already allowed to.

Talking about after crimes are committed. Doesn't seem it's done enough or that it's consistent across all states. Needs to be clear, your kid takes your gun and kills someone, they are done and you are done.

I'm down for improving social services, bits just going to take a long time to see the effect. We need some actions that work immediately too to help stop this shit.

For the billionth time. In general the pro gun group is exactly the group who sure seems to do the least to help social services, or expand healthcare, or improve education and so on. So what do we do. We are held hostage.

Nothing is going to stop this shit right now. Short of figuring out a psychological profile on people who are about to snap and getting them the help they need (as well as removing their access to weapons). The red flag laws should help in that respect.

The problem is none of these short term fixes will make much of a difference, so we get an endless cycle of political capital wasted on these fixes, and give the right wingers more ammunition to claim that we're being more fascist than they are.

Improving our gini coefficient would save more lives per dollar by orders of magnitude than any gun control ever has.

We need to get on the same page and drop the political BS to have any hope to actually solve our problems. Partisan games will no longer work. Republicans have won that game. The suggestion I posted in response to @Chris Craig should be very popular with the masses, and there is no downside to supporting it, aside from the DNC ostracizing you.

EXCLUSIVE: Highland Park shooter was facing life on the streets as his home was set for foreclosure. Neighbor says she fears her refusal to date him could have sparked his deadly rampage
    • The Crimo family home, where alleged Highland Park shooter Bobby Crimo lived has been placed in pre foreclosure
    • Mortgage company Newrez claim Crimo's father, a former mayoral candidate, owes nearly $200,000
    • If it goes into foreclosure, the Crimo family could be on the streets before the end of the year
    • A 21-year-old former co-worker told DailyMail.com that she is blaming herself as she shutdown their friendship after he showed a romantic interest in her
    • 'We didn’t date, but he did like me,' the woman said. 'I told him no, but we can be friends'
    • But instead she admits she 'kinda stopped talking to him,' and deleted his messages
    • 'If I’d been more social with him, maybe this would not have happened,' the young woman said as she fought back tears

That is both narcissistic and self-hating at the same time. Maybe she watches Tucker Carlson?
