Or you can choose to not vote, or vote for someone with no chance whatsoever of being elected. Or vote Republican. There are rational choices, and there are irrational choices. Disliking the rational choice doesn't mean someone is forcing you to make it. barfo
Or, and I'm just spitballing here, we could actually make it a competition in which the person with the best ideas wins...
I like the goal, but I'm not sure how you get there. Please present a detailed plan of action. What are the best ideas? Does everyone agree on that? Do people currently vote based on who has the worst ideas? Would you remove those people's ability to vote? barfo
Only a fraction of the population is willing to watch debates or pays any attention to fact checking. I'm in favor of more of those things too, but I kinda doubt it would make much difference. barfo
Well, you could have immediate fact checks during debates and have the number of lies below each of the candidates on the screen. But, yeah people are going to believe what they are going to believe fact check or not.
It would take time, but it would be a step in the right direction. And I think it would make a difference over time.
Good point, if you are someone who thinks 'the system is corrupt', there's no reason to ever believe a fact-check. barfo
Yeah, we need to focus more on the important things like education and stop focusing on political crap that is statistically insignificant. That's a waste of political capital and democrats can't afford that. If you don't think our political system is corrupt... I just don't know where to go from there...
Maybe they are having discussions about a plan as they did when it became apparent Bernie would possibly win the nomination. They executed that plan in quick fashion. I'll go with I bet they talk him into retiring and promote Kamala for a presidential run.
Ugh. This is the best they can do? She is totally unqualified. I would take Pete B over her. How can they not get a smart person with relevant experience under the age of 70? Unbelievable
Yes I believe there should be an age limit. Joes going through the motions like anyone could if you'd been on the job as long as he. I know, been there. I retired when I knew I didnt have the grit and drive I did when younger in position. I could have easily hung on, gone through the motions/skated as I knew the industry well and was secure in my position.
