Nope. Just sharing what the guy said. It was an interesting angle that I had never heard before.

@THE HCP does Calabro know how many fans wish Barrett was the guy? Can you put in a word so Barrett gets rehired and Calabro leaves?

doesn't speak for everyone. i didn't like Barrett at all. Thought he was amateurish and so up and down. Also hated his homerish calls of other team's plays.

Rice was funny at times and thought he was at least insightful, but Hurd is growing on me more and more.

Calabro is tiers above MB as a pbp guy-- i just think people resent him because of the Seattle connection.

I resent Calabro because he sucks. The Seattle part makes it worse.

Havent been able to watch games with Calabro on tv. Had a nice break with Kent for a year where I started listening again. He wasn't great. But he wasn't Calabro.

    "The cup"

    "In the cup"

    "To the cup"

    "Missed at the cup"

    IT'S NOT A FUCKING CUP!

Something about him calling the basket a cup 10x a game is like nails on a chalkboard for me.

I don't think Kent was great. He just wasn't Calabro so I didn't want to jump off a bridge after watching him.

M&M was good but i think much of it is fanbase homerism. I bet a national poll would put Calabro in a whole next level tier. With that said, I have heard him fading a bit. Forgetting more names, etc. He may be on the decline.

Yeah Barrett wasn't a high quality pbp guy; Calabro is.

I do miss Mike & Mike; they were a fun duo to listen too. Wish they had been able to stay on pregame/postgame or as a rotating 3rd guy in the booth. Had a lot of history and memories of them from the Jail Blazers, to Roy era, and into Dame years. Rice was many decades before then, probably one of the only announcers to be ejected from an NBA game.

I couldn't stand Barretts homer statements, and saying he had to say x and y because of who paid his checks.

That, and "between the wickets." Between the wickets is where that bird crash-landed in the cricket video. It's a distance wider than a basketball court.

I wasn’t a Barrett fan either. Very amateur. After game interviews he’d constantly say to players, “see you on the plane”. Like look everybody I hang with the cool kids!

He was always riding Blake and Pryzbilla’s jock too.

I dunno he just bugged me. I much prefer calabro

I think there is a reason why we have never heard that before. It wasn't a factor. Not saying that Paul was an advantage as an owner when it came to free agents, and maybe he turned off a few players, but if that was really the reason then great, we will be seeing them lining up now to play in Portland
