Young guys have to adjust to the superior athletes and physicality of even a summer league game ... and expectations of professionalism ... and travel ... and 82 games instead of 30+ ... and ...
Seeing Sharpe now just makes me wonder what he can be in 2-3 years. It will be about work ethic and grit.

blazers posted a story of Sharpe knocking down FTs after practice today with his left arm in his sling.

    so sad.

He has a sprained shoulder. He will be fine. He's young and should heal quickly. With help from the training staff, he will build that shoulder, and his whole body, to be stronger and better able to whether these type of dings. It's a bummer we don't get to see him in the SL, but we need not make a mountain out of a mole hill. Get Well soon Shaedon.

It's not sprained it's torn. Nas had surgery because of this exact injury. Same with Collins (although Collins's was worse).

There's also different levels of tears. I had an MRI done ony shoulder and had a bunch of tiny tears, but not surgery required tears. Rest and PT.

The Blazers aren't being completely honest. This injury is very severe.

He'll be dead within a week, guaranteed.

6-10 days and then we should have a time table. It could just take 4 weeks to heal and 4 weeks of rehab from the time of the injury, which would have him ready for training camp. It could take surgery and be six months from then that he plays again.

This clearly shows how much he loves the game, and how strong his drive to be great is. Future HOFer, guaransheed.

If he decides on surgery in the next few weeks we know he will be out quite a while.

If instead he decides to just go forwards with rest I wonder how likely it is that fixes it? Paul George tried to rest at first then eventually had to have surgery. So even if they say no surgery now, seems like in 4 weeks if it doesn't heal fast they might need surgery.

Just really a bummer as I probably wanted to see him more than any rookie ever. So little film on him, Oden had way more.

I tore both rotator cuffs, not at same time. Right one twice. And I am a hell of a lot older than he. No surgery needed. Rest and PT.

A sprain is a stretch or tear of a ligament; the labrum is cartilage.

A shoulder labral tear is an injury to the ring of cartilage in the shoulder joint. Two of the most common tears are the SLAP (Superior Labral tear form Anterior to Posterior) tear and the Bankart tear. Some kinds of labral tears - especially a Bankart lesion - can increase the potential for shoulder dislocations.

I slightly tore my labrum 10 years ago, i chose rest over surgery. I still have trouble throwing with any force, but it doesn’t get uncomfortable until the 3rd or 4th throw. Hope that makes everyone feel better.
