Okay, so our starting lineup is at least 4/5 set in stone. It's also a bit unbalanced because of Dame and Ant playing together. Somebody called Winslow "The Nurk Whisperer," which I think is true and got me thinking, what are the lineups that you think work particularly well as a group? We just saw our SL team which was pretty under-talented (if we're honest) just crush the opposition (in all but the first quarters) because they worked really well together as a unit. So: any lineups you think really gel and would get you excited? I'll start: The "Bob Kloppenburg Memorial Chaos-inflicting Lineup": Payton Hart Grant Walker Winslow Pretty low on shooting, but it doesn't matter because it'll be all dunks and layups! [Update: apparently BK is still alive at 94! Good for him.]
The professors (all high-IQ players) Dame Hart Winslow Walker Watford If Dame is willing to work off-ball, I'd let Winslow run this unit offensively. Strange putting youngsters Walker/Watford in here, but I trust them to make smart decisions more than I do Grant and Nurk, to just know the right places to be, on both sides of the ball.
The high-flyers: Ant Keon Sharpe Little Brown Honestly, I think this group would be terrible (at least early on) and full of rookie mistakes, but they'd probably be fun to watch.
Replace Ant with Brandon Williams, and that'd be pretty accurate. Honestly though, absent an injury, I doubt Brown will even be active and available to play in garbage time. I expect him, Louzada, and Williams to be the standard inactives.
Thinking further, I imagine that with Louzada/Brown/Williams inactive, the garbage-time squad will be: Keon/Sharpe/Walker/Watford/Eubanks. Keon running point, Walker trying to defend 3's on the perimeter. I think that group will be sufficiently terrible. I hope we get to see them a lot.
Dame/ Hart/Williams Ant/ Payton/Johnson Nas/ Walker/Louzada Grant/Winslow/Brown Nurk /Eubanks/Watford
Louzada and Brown shouldn't even be on the depth chart. Those guys won't sniff real minutes. Louzada might as well be sent home for the season.
Tough thing is, in my opinion he isn't a SF either. He's more of an undersized SF than a PG though, I'll give you that.
Not if you want to keep a healthy Sharpe....right now he's DNP injured so when he can play...I'm sure he'll make the 3rd team to start the season. All the 3rd stringers are garbage time practice bodies at this point. If Sharpe can beat Payton or Hart or even Nas for minutes I'll be more than shocked.
