They should be held accountable (upstream) on the environmental regulation front. What about new businesses wanting loans?

Part of a sound business plan is avoiding being fined for environmental hazards, and not having employees constantly quit.
What happened to government stays out of business?

    From your article.

South Carolina Bankers Association president and CEO Fred Green, who spoke at last week’s subcommittee hearing, doesn’t believe the legislation is necessary.

“When I first saw the bill, my first thought was, ‘Banks, No. 1, don’t do it (use ESG scores); and No. 2, can’t do it,’” he said when contacted this week by The Nerve.

Green, who noted he was in the banking business for “40-some” years, most of it “in the senior ranks of running a bank,” said his organization polled approximately 70 banks that do business in the state – about 40 of which are headquartered in South Carolina and the remainder based out of state – asking them whether they currently are using ESG scores and whether they intend to do so in the future.

“There was 100% response, and the response was ‘no’ and ‘no,’” he said.

It's sadly hilarious that no matter what DeSantis says it suddenly becomes an all-important issue to ABM.

DeathSantis still can't bring himself to say Nazis are bad but goes after a restaurant.
This stupid anti woke shit is just him, like his mentor Trump, using his office to reward his supporters and punish anyone who criticizes him.
Florida has a huge housing shortage, 22,000 Floridians with disabilities still on waiting list for service but he won't govern, he's too busy owning the libs.

I know. But, after all, it's South Carolina. What this will really boil down to is the mid-terms. You just watch.

If you hadn't noticed, many eyes are on DeSantis. What he says matters if he's to be a formidable contestant for POTUS in '24.

Now trying to take away the restaurant's liquor license. Too cowardly to say Nazis are bad but will go after small business and drag queens.

Do you know where I live the local library had a Pride event for children? They made origami rainbows with kind messages written on them and had story time. And a unicorn!

    Haven't heard anyone was harmed.

The real legacy of Trump, aside from packing courts with judges who want to bring the country back to the 1850s, is viciousness.

It's not accomplishments. He had two major legislative accomplishments, a huge tax cut for the rich, and allowing people with serious mental illness to buy guns.
It's permission to be your worst. All the behavior we are taught not to do, all the things you can't say at work or in school.

Used to be, with few exceptions, politicians across all ideologies wanted to convince voters they were a nice guy/a lady, an affable person with whom you would like to have a beer, clean living and god fearing, pet dogs, kiss babies. In 2016 the more vicious, vulgar, rude, crude and offensive Trump was, the more his cult cheered and that is now the modus operandi for Republicans. Insult, name calling, threats, actual violence. Abusing women in particular is admired. Kick those who are down and then spit on them. Look at any Republican primary debate, all trying to out-nasty one another.

I read an article recently by some folks who went to a music festival in upstate New York, at a college, a liberal island in a very conservative area. Driving through they encountered loads of signs saying things like "liberal hunting license" and guns guns guns. Then when they got to the campus it was rainbow flags and Black Lives Matter signs.

It's not a matter of Republicans trying to solve problems in a way with which I disagree. It's a matter of being, in the words of a mediocre but profane rap album, as nasty as we want to be. That's what their supporters want. Fuck governing. Just be outrageous. DeathSantis understands this, he was a back bench congressman until Trump supported him for governor. Pence, aside from being seen as a traitor, doesn't.

That library needs to have its liquor license taken away.

Even in California libraries don't serve liquor.
    And don't ban books.
