^^^^^Severino switched to 60 day IL. Looks to be done for this season. Has really become a liability.
I said when the injury happened his career is over sadly. Had a lot of promise but has a bum arm. Glad we got Montas and didn’t give up too much honestly. I thought we’d give up more.
Hate to admit it but I give Cashman a "B" for the additions...but I'm still waiting on the subtractions that need to go away anyway. We've added 3 roster spots which means that some current players need to go bye bye...(2 pitchers' spots and 1 position player ?)...I dunno, I'm guessing Gallo and/or Donaldson ?
^^^^Gallo definitely will be gone tomorrow. Donaldson? Let’s see if Cashman can get a 3B or infielder.
Other than maybe 3B, I don't know where another bat would play. FWIW, I just heard that San Diego got Soto AND Josh Bell..
FINALLY...seriously though, I wish Gallo the best...for whatever reason he was simply not able to perform better than he did while in NY.
Not that I think Monty is amazing, but why the fuck are we trading away a pitcher when we know Nestor is gonna blow past his most innings ever pitched and Taillon has looked like crap? I’d keep Monty, go to a 6 man rotation (but let crybaby Cole go every 5 because god forbid), and bring up Florial or Andujar. Just doesn’t make sense.
Watch Monty will flourish in St Louis. If I am not mistaken He had less run support than any other Yankee SP. Personally I would have held on to him, and I don't like this move.
The Yanx get gold glove CF'er Harrison Bader for Monty. https://www.nj.com/yankees/2022/08/...an-montgomery-for-injured-harrison-bader.html Bader won a Gold Glove last year, he’s one of the fastest players in the game and he’s a Bronxville, N.Y., native who is coming home. That’s all well and good, but the Yankees have a bunch of outfielders, and Bader is hurt. Bader has been on the injured list since late June with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, will be in a walking boot for another week and probably won’t be ready to play until September ... if he’s lucky. This injury can be a bad one. **Ask Jacoby Ellsbury or Greg Bird, two former Yankees who dealt with it during their playing days. With his foot in a boot, he can't be that fast. ** It's never good to be mentioned in the same sentence with Ellsbury and Bird!
