So for the last few days I've been addicted to the "World History" channel on youtube, which is almost exclusively about the Nazi's and WW2...and talks about all the shit they did to people (I won't mention any of it, but I'm sure most of you already know a lot of it). https://www.youtube.com/c/WorldHistoryVideos Some of the shit they did is unimaginable, almost to the point where you can kinda understand why there could be Holocaust deniers, because you just can't even fathom human beings would treat people like that.
It's crazy that we always hear about what the nazis did, and never really bring up the horrible shit the Japanese were doing at the same time. I'm not trying to compare or scale atrocities. Just, I was a history major, with a big leaning towards WWII, and the pacific theater, outside of the dropping of the bombs, is always sadly forgotten as part of the war. Thanks for the link. Will definitely give it a watch.
I just stumbled on Itchy Boots! She's awesome! Riding by herself around the world on a motorcycle. She's f'ing fearless with the places she visits. https://www.youtube.com/c/ItchyBoots
I love the travel vlogs....especially the off the beaten track adventurers.....Sabbatical, great but sparse travel videos that so far have spanned lots of Africa and South America and Mexico...the guy Tom from Long Island New York is fluent or partially fluent in about 18 languages....he lived in Shanghai for years and speaks Mandarin pretty well ...another is backpacking Simon ...a young German guy who's all over the map...does drone shots....Jamaica, Bali, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, etc....he's friends with Freelance Chucky who does vlogs from his hostel in Jamaica....traveling vicariously like this on youtube is endlessly entertaining and informative to me. I love it....there are others like Harld Balder the Norwegian climber who travels villages in Nepal and Latin America and South America, etc...he has tons of followers and gives all his youtube earnings to poor families that helped him along the way..very cool vlogs..Miss Josey from Uganda I follow through the Middle east and now she went from Pakistan to India to Nepal to Cambodia and now is in Laos....it's great to know so many people in the world still live simple humble earthy lives without all the crap we collect around our lives. I would have loved to have documented my own travels this way but it wasn't my journey to do that.
I will check it out. FWIW, c90adventures is fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/c/c90adventures/videos
Idk if it’s just a conspiracy theory or not but I heard that MK-Ultra was basically an extension of tests the Nazis did.
My youtube feed is pretty much all golf and cooking/bbq at this point. My latest binge of his channels is the Guga foods guy, he does some interesting experiments with sous vide cooking and bbq, using some very odd ingredients.
A little of both for different moods. I used to listen to beethovens greatest hits over and over and over. But you cant see Beethoven playing. Watching the band playing live is the best for me. I go down live concert rabbit holes all the time.
Well, he may have been live at the start, but he was sure enough dead by the time I got through with the little bastard. barfo
I'm also into some WW1 history stuff. The background is fascinating and almost unbelievable how it all played out. If it was a movie I might not think the events were believable enough. I didn't know much about it all till recently.
