I prefer rooting for a team that has a payroll about one fourth of the Yankees but plays a lot more exciting brand of ball. That's the Cleveland Guardians!
Admittedly, the Yankees have dominated the Guardians this year but the Guardians are in first place in their division and on an uptrend.
I guess that's why I decided to be a Cleveland fan starting in 6th grade, even though I lived in New York; Yankee fans were just too arrogant.
I remember as a kid playing ball, though we were mostly Mantle fans, we used to copy different players' batting stance...Rocky Colavito was one of our favs....ahh, good times..
Truth be told today there are many arrogant Yankee fans across the country. Distancing is your best bet!
