Yeah, but then they probably would have eliminitated their workforce instead.

The Lakers were qualified for the program.

Here's an idea, quit being contrarian for the sake of being contrarian.

So what if the Lakers qualified for the program? That has nothing to do with anything.

They are valid questions. Sorry you are unable to refute my points.

In general, college-educated persons are not lower income/poverty level populations.

    Meaning "qualified" doesn't mean anything.

If given the choice, they would have likely laid off their workers, who would have gone on enhanced unemployment in an already overloaded system.

Hence, the need for this program while everything was shut down.

For SOME companies. Companies where the owners aren't worth millions of dollars.

Higher income people are excluded from the loan forgiveness.

Apparently student loans are a "national emergency."

Well.........to be fair, that kids thing did set her/us back a few years before she could put her degree to good use. But as far as a long term investment goes, it worked out pretty well.

But you said it was to help lower income and to avoid poverty, which by the numbers, college graduates are least likely to be.

Up to $125k single/$250k married are eligible for forgiveness. They should have probably lowered the threshold to $60k and increased the amount of forgiveness if the goal was as you stated.

I would say that is accurate. With the way many folks are barely able to survive with rising costs and the payment holds expiring at the end of this month, they had to do something.

Ivy league colleges are not the only schools around bro....a lot of people go to college that are low income. Most start the first two years in community college which is cheaper than a 4 year program at a major school. You went to college....was your family rich? I sure had to work my way through and my son had a job even though he got a full scholarship to pay rent and buy books etc.....none of his roommates at OSU were rich either....I think you're off on this upper class college student thing by a mile. Low income people are more likely to graduate than spoiled rich kids who are just there to party because dad went there. You've seen Animal House too many times bro!

No. Middle class. Took out loans. Worked during college.

But the stats don't lie, that college grads make significantly more than non-college grads.

College is an investment in one's future. It's not for everyone, but for most, it will ensure that you are less likely to be poor/poverty than those without. Not really sure about the point of this, other than buying votes before the midterm to be honest.

College taught me how to learn at a higher level and definitely made sure I never struggled to compete in the workforce...Biden is making true on his campaign promises which was long before these midterms.....he's actually done a hell of a lot given the divisive nature of the legislative branch. On the flip side...voting against cheap insulin, veterans health care, Trumpgate and a number of other issues is not helping your GOP these midterms much

$125k is not high income. Parents making $250k isn't really either.

There is no reason to punish these people.
