There are many, many cases of repeat murderers who got out to do it again. Revealed: The 12 convicted murderers who were freed on licence only to kill AGAIN in the past decade | Daily Mail Online https://www.bing.com/search?q=murderers who got out of jail to murder again&form=ANNTH1&refig=c6d4448d29db28b84687a0f15e10c0b2
you mentioned strawmen.....we're not talking about people wrongly convicted...so let's stick to the murderers who are caught red handed eh?
Voltaire- “that generous Maxim, that ’tis much more Prudence to acquit two Persons, tho’ actually guilty, than to pass Sentence of Condemnation on one that is virtuous and innocent. Benjamin Franklin- It is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer, is a Maxim that has been long and generally approved -Sir William Blackstone “For the law holds, that it is better that ten guilty persons escape, than that one innocent suffer.”
Looks like prisoners have more rights than those people who decided to go grocery shopping yesterday. At least they don't have to worry about getting shot.
Oh sorry if i wasn't clear. I wasn't stating what the laws were. I was stating what i believe. Sorry for the confusion.
But that's not what you said. You used a specific example/concern about mass shooters. I think all prisoners that are abducted by aliens and anally probed should be sent to live in Florida after they are returned to earth.
again...we're not talking about INNOCENT PEOPLE wrongly convicted...I don't think anyone convicted with any reasonable doubt around the case should be executed so stop changing the topic...I'm talking about killers you and I know killed innocent people....what about the innocent victim's rights? Their families rights?
10 twisted murderers who were freed then killed again (monstersandcritics.com) Plea of Insanity - Can you get away with Murder? (lawbriefcase.com) Top 10 Most Notorious Insanity Defense Cases - Listverse There are many, many cases of these to be found. I think the point I was making is absolutely on target. If you read my reply to your original question I said no....off hand I couldn't but there are examples of it throughout history.
didn't get much sleep. trying to drown myself in work as a distraction. i made the mistake of reading this idiot's manifesto last night that made me feel worse. might take a while for this community to get past this. can only imagine what the families of the victims are feeling.
mass shooters are murderers but you can dissect it into whatever category you like...my first example was mobsters ...hit men ..of course not all murderers are mass murderers but the point doesn't change as to the loopholes in the justice system that allow killers to kill again ..mass killers or not...in this case it's a mass killer. He's dead but if he survived I'd want him executed without delay. I support the death penalty for killers who are without a doubt guilty of intentionally killing innocent people.
You did though. You may not have meant to, but that would be the result of what you're asking for. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wrongful_convictions_in_the_United_States Since 1973, at least 190 people who had been wrongly convicted and sentenced to death in the U.S. have been exonerated.
This has been the case in the US for our entire existence. It happens less frequently now than it did pre 1990s. There has been a significant uptick since 2008, as US citizens have had less and less security.
