Maybe, just maybe, the former guy is being "pursued" because there is good evidence that he has committed multiple crimes.

And DeSantis had not, so far as I know, publicly said Biden won election. He will go after libraries and drag shows but not Nazis or Trumpers. Bullies usually are cowards. Kiss up kick down.

Yes, DeSantis is being somewhat coy. But, considering he has an election to win in Florida, it's not too surprising. If he does win in November, I think we'll begin hearing much more from him from a national perspective.

At any rate, I'll do my best to keep DeSantis out of this thread.

Trump should certainly be in prison. No question.

I oppose expansion of government restrictions on the people unless they are beneficial to society. Restricting a woman's right to choose is the opposite of that, so I'm vehemently opposed. The removal of this right is incredibly damaging to society, as well as morally corrupt.

Just the mere fact trump can't become an electable politician, is the least we can hope for.

yet so many people ranted about him that it surely must have been their own political allegiances that was causing so much fuss...couldn't have been him or his conduct eh?

It's good you quit supporting Trump. Yes, the Democratic leadership and the few Republicans in office not tainted by Trump's right wing ideologies, will continue to go after Trump, because they have too. He and his fascist brand of politics are a threat to this country. A majority of Republicans in the house and Senate and many others on the state level have adopted his disgusting ways. Those who haven't are being voted out.

The FBI's search and seizure of Top secret documents at Mar A Lago is actually not related to January 6th. It was known Trump took documents with him. The government asked him to return them. They gave him time to do so. He refused. They got a warrant and went in. He could still be charged for January 6th on top of this, but it seems that has become background noise unfortunately.

Your right to life stance puts you at odds here, especially with Roe V Wade being thrown out on account of the guy you supported. That will continue to be a sore point for many here.

Jumping to DeSantis, well it's like jumping to another Trump. He believes in the same things. He is destroying schools, attacking the LBGTQ community, and the black community. He is doing the same things Trump was for. He's just helped them along at a faster rate. Many other Governors took note of his actions and followed suit. He's basically just a younger Trump with brains. It shows you really haven't learned anything from supporting Trump. You can't suddenly say Trump was bad, and you were wrong for supporting him/voting for him and you see how dangerous he is, and then jump to a younger version of the same horse, and be taken seriously.

Hopefully, justice will prevail. The political systems and guardrails are being melted down as we speak though. A far right supreme court will vote next year to give states the right to overturn elections and go against the voters if they please, in doling out electoral votes as they see fit.

Republicans in office in swing states like Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are waiting to be able to use and abuse that power next presidential election, to install their candidate. So, excuse me and many others here who refuse to sit and take the wait and see approach.

I think the issue folks here have with your perspective is how dismissive you are, especially of things that are incredibly serious and have terrible consequences. You seem entirely indifferent to the country becoming a dictatorship for example, and mock those that have that concern.

Not wanting abortion to be legal is one thing, but supporting fascist are another thing entirely.

I'm well past Trump. I think many others are, as well. Don't be surprised to see many more Republicans (house and senate, as well) turning away from him. I'm seeing many signs of this happening now. He's reeling, and he knows it. How he will continue to deal with is anyone's guess. We'll have to see how all of this plays out with his legal battles.

I will always be right to life. I believe life begins at conception and believe that life has every right to live and be born. I support politicians who have that same belief and also support any and all efforts they make toward preserving the life of the child. Regardless if that stance puts me at odds with many in here, I'll always maintain it.

DeSantis is his own man. Sure he supported Trump early on, but, like many others, has pulled away from him. DeSantis is not destroying schools. In terms of the LBGTQ issues, much of what he has done has been twisted by the press and others. I see him wanting to let kids be kids. He's not attacking the Black community, either. More twisting by the press.

I still believe in my party and will continue to support those who align with my world view and belief systems.

The Republican party is still very connected to Trump. Most of the candidates he has supported have been voted in. Those against him voted out. Polls show he would be the presumptive Republican candidate easily. He still draws enough of a crowd to his rallies and has enough supporters to live off of their contributions. It doesn't seem like he's fading to me.

You have a right to your beliefs. It's the forcing of those beliefs on the masses that is causing turmoil and anger. The party and politicians you support are openly doing this and you seem to be ok with that. That is why people are coming at you.

DeSantis is just a younger, more educated version of Trump. They share the same supporters. Like Trump he refuses to denounce white supremacists. He is spinning much of the same divisiveness and vitriol. He is destroying education. You can't even teach black history in Florida anymore. He's letting kids be kids? I get trying to protect the innocence of children. The fact is some of those children are LGBTQ, and refusing to allow them to be themselves, will be terribly damaging.

In other words, raped 10 year olds forced to carry to term is awesome. Forcing women to undergo all the risk of pregnancy and delivery so they can birth a nonviable fetus is wonderful. Ectopic pregnancies and partial miscarriages leaving women hemorrhaging for days is spectacular.

    Book banning is fabulous.

    Voter suppression is terrific.

Being too cowardly to say Nazis are bad and Biden won the election is good politics.

Highest housing costs. Lowest paid teachers. We don't need no education.

Talking parental rights when it means white people won't hear anything that makes them uncomfortable is one thing, but parents taking children to family drag show, no parental rights.

You have the right to praise God. Meaning god emperor DeSantis.

If you dissent he will remove you from office.

He has all Trump's anti democratic views, just better grammar.

So ABM how do you feel about his private police force arresting people for voting, threatening them with five years imprisonment, after his own appointees issued them voter registration cards? That what you want nationwide?
