Weird that they leave out the 2 teams where he played his most significant basketball

I really wish he'd start an investment group and buy the Blazers...Melo earned my respect as a person when he came to Portland...he does a lot of good work in the world outside basketball.
With his love of all things wine related Oregon is a perfect place for him to invest. Melo has connections with deep pockets throughout the entertainment world.

If Melo bought the Blazers the tone of this thread might change quite a bit.

Just think if Melo & Lebron bought the Blazers?

Then we would have to change the name of the thread?

I'm surprised the Nuggets weren't listed as a potential destination. He would bring them a clutch, end of game, finisher. La La was a big reason he left Denver.

    “The big blockbuster…” is mine

and it would remain accurate if Melo and Lebron bought the team :)

I think investing in a team would be smart no matter where that team might be. That being said, it's hard to imagine investing in this city right now.

Investors love a city that's got somewhere to grow. During the Balkan wars Soros bought every hotel and building he could in Sarajevo and Bosnia...those guys love to swoop in when things are down and get penny on the dollar deals. In Melo's case it's the wine industry and his involvement in lobbying for black businesses to take hold in America...more of an attraction to a state than just the urban homeless stuff in Portland metro. Popovich and CJ McCullom are invested in the wine business here......Melo knows entrepreneurs with serious money like Tyler Perry and Jay Z. He's well known in the black business community
