He asked why Draymond was able to say it. The intent doesn't matter. That is a word you do not repeat regardless.

Sarver also sexually harassed multiple female employees and created a hostile work environment. He needs to go.

It's like Michael Scott recreating Chris Rock's "I love black people" comedy routine.

Totally agree. If he freely said it, he surely doesn't see it as wrong. And probably uses it more than people know. I never use the word, and hate hearing it , anywhere, in lyrics, or from anyone. It's cringeworthy. I understand that a variation is sometimes used in the Black community when talking to a friend. But it sure as hell, shouldn't ever be used by any other race.

Its a valid question though. There are songs being released every year with this word in it. If im singing along am i supposed to not say it? Should i not say it only because of my skin color but other people with different skin color can listen, sing along and say it without recourse?
There are movies put out with the word in it still. What do we do with those directors of these movies?
Im just saying there should be a judgemental difference of someone using it as an insult vs someone reading a quote or some other nondirect speech that isnt used as an insult but providing a verbatim?

Your suppose to not say it, even if it's in a song because of it's etymology. I don't understand how that isn't clear. It's not ok to say or repeat regardless.

Yes, it is used in movies, either to demonstrate the reality and impact of racism or as part of the language structure of black communities.

It is an oppressive word that the black community reclaimed to empower themselves. It's not ok for you or me or any other white person to say it period.

So if Im on the stand as a witness to a verbal assault of racism and the defendant’s attorney asks me to repeat what i heard?

Would you demand him to resign?

    You're advocating Sarver be banned.

There are ways around saying it. Even in that situation, I wouldn't say it. I would say he verbally assaulted him with degrading racial epithets that I will not repeat.

If he said it today, yes. It wasn't ok that he said it, even in the context he said it in.

Sarver committed along of disgusting behavior. He should go. If you want to defend him fine.

I guess it's possible. I could see a Lawyer trying to do that for dramatics. It would be objected to. You can't force a witness to say a racial epithet.
