If you reread the article from Woj, during the investigation it came out that he started using the language prior to anything starting... which is a pretty shitty way to start flirting in general because you're kind of pressing things before you know if someone likes that but when you're a superior at work pulling that shit, most of the time it will get you fired when reported.
It actually puts the Organization at risk too. When there is harassment not only the harasser can get sued but the company.
This is probably politically incorrect to say, but although it is true he could have pressured her, it is also possible that the crude language worked on her. Not justifying it in any way, but if he was crude, and she still began the affair, what does that say? He is still absolutely in the wrong, no question about that, but we need more info.
Right and when you're at a party with friends and acquaintances or at a bar with strangers that kind of insensitive press might be the way you want to go and you might get slapped or you might go home with the person you went at in that way. When you're a superior at work PC doesn't matter, it then comes down to professional judgment, liability and like I've said around twenty times in this thread, very strict company policies that people are trained on.
For 15 years straight the company I retired form had 2 day seminars each, for sex harassment & discrimination. If Stevens hired the dude and he was Udoka's boss, and there is a law suit anything is possible.
I've worked for a few fortune 500 companies and a couple of smaller businesses... every one of them had at least one day a year covering this shit. It's so basic, I have no idea what these people in here are getting at when they try to justify it in any way. I'm not saying I haven't seen it cost a bunch of people jobs and also go "unnoticed" I'm just saying it's very basic and when you get busted for it you have no excuses whatsoever.
