This is why I think Betsy takes away votes from Drazen versus Kotek. 'All of that said, there was quite a bit to be learned from the debate. One clear point: The two of the three who appear most often aligned are Johnson and Drazan. Debates of course only influence final election results, ordinarily, in a limited way. But if the indication from this one, that Drazan and Johnson are in effect sharing much the same message and in effect mostly splitting one sector of support, that would be a big advantage for Kotek. "
Abortion is about the only issue that betsy and drazen completely disagree on. Kotek would lose those anyway possibly even if it was a two way race.
I haven't heard Betsy's full stance on abortion. Someone can call themselves pro choice while believing that abortions shouldn't be done 2 weeks after conception, must get a transvaginal ultrasound, and written permission from her husband, father, and minister.
That's ageist. You never know when someone could be old for lack of youth, early birthdate, etc. You are really blaming her for something her parents did. barfo
That's not how it came across. Fair enough that she's old. Pretty much all politicians are these days.
This from Planned Parenthood on Betsy: “As confirmed by the state’s largest newspaper last month, Planned Parenthood PAC of Oregon invited Betsy Johnson to participate in our endorsement process. We didn’t receive a reply, nor did her campaign proactively reach out to us to inquire about our endorsement process. Yet tonight, she decided to lie to Oregon voters. “These are not the actions of someone Oregon voters can trust to protect and expand access to essential reproductive health care. Tina Kotek is the only candidate who has sought and earned the endorsement of Planned Parenthood PAC of Oregon after a rigorous and comprehensive process. “Betsy Johnson has taken a number of concerning actions that do not align with reproductive freedom. In 2015, she voted against legislation to help patients keep their reproductive healthcare choices private. In 2021, she voted against legislation to make sure reproductive health services are protected during healthcare mergers. And in 2022, she spoke out against the Reproductive Health Equity Fund, which is helping Eastern Oregonians access essential care in the wake of Idaho’s cruel ban on abortion. “In 2022, governors are either pursuing every avenue to protect and expand abortion access, or they’re falling short. In opposing the Reproductive Health Equity Fund, Johnson has shown that she is found wanting. “Instead of pursuing our endorsement, Johnson was more interested in garnering the approval of anti-abortion extremist and former gubernatorial candidate Bridget Barton. As reported by Oregon Capital Chronicle, Johnson appointed Barton to lead the ‘Republicans for Betsy’ group. Barton admitted, ‘[Christine] Drazan and Johnson are virtually identical on this issue.’”
I'm just saying it's interesting one can post something with one intent, and have someone else read it and see something different. It happened again. As I meant the above and you perceived I was insinuating something.
I wasn't the only one that read it that way. I think the same thing happened over in the rock bottom thread. Idk. Meanwhile, half our country is overweight or obese.
