If no one can separate themselves in the starting SF race by close to the AS break, I think you have to consider it. Play him in the Harkless role—if he shows to defend right away, you just have to bank on his offensive potential. He hasn’t been super wild with the ball, which gives me more confidence it could work.

Wow if Sharpe starts at the end of the season, Cronin would’ve put together a better starting SF/PF pairing in one year than NO did in 10. That’s actually kind of wild.

I just hope he can stay healthy and get consistent PT. I see all star potential.

Probably the only real exciting aspect of this team. It's why Dame also pointed to Shaedon's improvement by year end being the biggest potential difference maker for this team's prospects.

Dame is the most exciting part of this team, but Sharpe has that kind of potential, for sure. Sharpe MUST get at least 20 minutes a game to aid in his development. I want to see what Sharpe can do off Dame's passing. With the double teams Dame will certainly get, Sharpe can potentially feast on the situation. Sitting Sharpe is a lose/lose for this Blazers team.

Sharpe made getting 17 points look effortless. He's so smooth. He didn't even shoot well, but because of his extreme skillset, he still gets production.

Yeah, if we don't start on championship pace this season Sharpe should be getting minutes.

I think we should trade Ant and start Sharpe at the two.

I think this will happen sooner than later. For sure by mid season. I think the potential of Sharpe playing beside Dame is off the chain. And would speed up his development. Sitting Sharpe does absolutely nothing for this team, or his development.

The Blazers need a true PF that can rebound. Grant's game is perfect SF. John Collins would sure look good.

I think we should trade Dame and start Ant and Nightshade at the 1 and 2. Dame is amazing and I love him. But, might as well get a shit ton of assets before he slows down too much more. Thr draft capital from Dame, combined with our young players could set us up for a decade.

That is certainly the other option. But if you do that, you also trade Nurk and Grant. Probably also GPII.

I’m really still in the wait-and-see camp cause what kind of return are you getting for Dame? Dame will certainly get his choice of where he wants to go, but if that team doesn’t have the assets, I’m not giving him up for less like the CJ/Nance/Covington/Nance deals.

He’s mentioned NY, NY has plenty of picks—it would be a favorable bet for us imo that Dame never turns NY into a contender, so I would welcome that kind of deal. But off the top of my head, that’s the only middle-of-the-pack team I know he can get a huge return for. LAC/LAL don’t have the assets. Don’t think he would want to go to TOR. No way MIA trades for him imo.

What kind of return are you happy with?

I didn't watch the game so I can't speak to how effortless it looked, but he did have enough effort to shoot 19 times for those 17 points

He shot a 3 short, got his own board, contorted his body and missed a layup, then tipped it back in. That’s 3 “shots” right there in the same possession. You’d definitely have to watch his highlight to see how effortless it was. He pretty much showed everything we’ve seen him do and flashed more offensive potential.

When he scored it looked effortless and when he got to his spot to shoot it looked effortless, his shot even looked really nice and effortless... unfortunately his shot drew the front rim on most of his jumpers that were right on line but consistently short which felt a lot like he was tentative taking them. He wasn't tentative against Maccabi, which should tell us that he's a little intimidated by NBA competition but it's nothing the competition is doing, he's just got to get out of his head a little and should be able to do that pretty quickly.

Not trying to be an asshole but he shot a three short that someone else rebounded and got back to him, then he shot that three short getting the rebound himself, then he got to the hoop but didn't finish strong enough and finally popped back up to tip in that third miss. Good effort play, bad for his shooting percentage but indicative of his night because he did shoot short a lot but the shots looked nice, they just lacked the aggression we saw against Maccabi but I think that just fixes itself as he feels more comfortable.

It would help if he was as active without the ball when he's playing with starters as he is when playing with the guys he's likely running with in practice and it would also help if the starters would pass him the ball when he's wide open but I think that too will come with time.

I don't real excited about to much but as just got done watching the game he very impressive on offense. His skill set at that end is really good. He score at 3 levels and some of the scores inside was pretty damn good. On defense he does block rebounds that something you don't see in the NBA do very much. But he still thinking to much on that but with experience he will stop that. He has to get stronger just like any young player. So question to do with I would back him up behind Hart. I would play him ahead of Little. If doesn't at the beginning it will happen be end December. The reason why he is a point getter something the 2nd unit needs.
